I'd have agree. We started with the best intentions but towards the end it was a bit of a drag. I think they could have staggered the build of the portal a bit, maybe you build some and then go to levels to collect other pieces to do more of the build.

We finished the Simpsons level today and the kids really enjoyed it. I was concerned that the base game might be a bit light on content but it seems like there is quite a bit to do without having to buy other packs (though the 'hire a hero' stuff might mitigate that).

Finished the Dr Who adventure, it was a lot of fun but got a bit confusing going back and forth the whole time. It wasn't as nicely designed a package as the Portal adventure but there was more variation which made it a bit more fun if rather more clumsy.

The Game World looks like it'll be great fun too, just seeing the different doctors cropping up then going I the Tardis to check their one out is really cool.

We've just finished the level after that and the integrated building has been my only real complaint so far.

We started the BttF pack last night and more time was spent building the hover board and Delorean than playing the level, which was a bit of a pain, especially when it was supposed to be 'a quick go before bed'. Worth it in the end though, purely just to see Gandalf zooming around on the hover board :D

Good to hear that the Doctor Who pack is worthwhile as I ordered that last night (over the actual Doctor Who Lego set!).

I can see me buying more packs than I originally intended to...:fp:

Back to the Future is the weakest Level Pack I have definitely. The adventure isn't great and the Game World is a little dull despite the 3 time zone mechanic. The Delorean is the best build I've had with anything I've bought though so there is that.

I enjoyed building the stuff for this, yeah it's the kids, but I thought it'd be quicker for me to do it. They can (and are) build their Lego Minecraft stuff.

Got this for Xmas, just the base game but I have to say I love it, Im pretty close to the end I reckon, maybe 1-2 more levels to go and some of the mash ups have been fantastic. Im not sure that Ill get any of the extra packs but Im very pleased that this has turned out so well, I was also pleasantly surprised by how much use they made of the portal, its much more than just a way to get stuff to appear in the game.

Make sure you check out the Game Worlds too. Loads of time to be spent in them as well. The LOTR one in particular is cracking.

Does anyone want to take over this thread? I was interested when they announced it but the pricing killed it for me.

Finished this last night, I really enjoyed it but the last level was a bit of a let down after the highs of the earlier mashup levels. Ill take a look at the included adventure worlds, or whatever theyre called but I cant see myself getting any extra characters for this, if I ever see them in a bargain bin or something I will but the RRP is way too high for me to bite.

Yeah, it wasn't that great in the end. A lot shorter than I was expecting too. The Delorean's nice though, my daughter decided to take it on a joyride round Hill Valley and terrorise the residents afterwards.

She also picked the Wicked Witch pack to spend her Christmas money on. I don't know what the Wizard of Oz world's like but the witch is really cool: she can destroy silver items and flies about like a radge.

Quick question of those who've bought extra packs, which is the best adventure world (apart from Portal)? Got Doctor Who to play through but tempted by a fun pack to open up an extra world. At the moment hovering over either Ninjago, Chima or Oz.

I'd suggest Dr Who but I've not played any of the ones you mention. Steer clear of Jurassic World.

Went to sainsbury's yesterday and had a look at their dimensions display. strawberry float me those prices, absolutely disgusting.

Anyone be up for temporarily swapping the bases of sets so we can all experience a lot more of the game without having to fork out for a bit of plastic?

We spent a bit of time playing about in Oz yesterday, it's very smart with some nice areas. It's also really cool flying about it as the Witch.

I have found a Ninjago character specific switch in one of the levels though so I suppose it depends what you'd rather be able to unlock.

My kid has a Ninjago set, with Kai and Cole, hasn't played it yet though. To busy playing Minecraft or Terreria.

Amazon US have got a few of the upcoming fun packs on pre-order at $7.49/each (Doc Brown, Sensei Wu from Ninjago and the Cyberman one). I ordered two of them with UK delivery and the total was around £16 (though they won't get delivered until around 10th Feb). Seems like a decent way to open up the adventure worlds for not much money. According to the post I saw on HotUKdeals, all 3 comes in around £22.
