Loved the original. It's still my favourite LEGO game and one of the most enjoyable open world games I've played. Here's hoping the sequel comes close to it, eh.

Excellent, I too loved the original. Played Lego avengers as well but the open world was just a rehash of the original (but better) game so it got a bit boring

I expect that this, like most other lego games will quickly be about £5 or less on cdkeys.com soon enough so i'll add it to the pile.

I'm assuming the X-Men and Fantastic Four aren't in this.

The license here is based on the comics not the MCU so they probably will be but only as unlockable characters, I doubt theyll be a major part of the story as Marvel are trying to deny they exist to take the wind out of the movie rights.

They were very much a feature of the original game. I see no reason for them to ignore them again this time.

Things have changed since then. Marvel executives doesn't want to publicise any characters it doesn't own the film rights to which is also why X-Men and Fantastic Four won't be in the new Marvel Vs Capcom game.

I was unaware of just how convoluted and ridiculous the ownership of Marvel's characters is. How did Marvel get into such a mess? :fp:  .

Wasn't it due to them nearly going bankrupt so they had to bring money in somehow?

Yeah they signed a lot of bad deals with Sony, fox etc as they were desperate for the money prior to Disney buying them. Sony and fox can pretty much do what they want with the characters that they own the film rights on.

It's a shame as there's lots of crossover villains from the comics that you will never get to see say fight the avengers because fox owns their rights etc. The rights ownerships are also pretty much indefinite as long the companies use those characters in a movie within a set number of years which is why daredevil went back to marvel as fox didn't make another movie with him in within a set period of time.

Thats also the reason we got a new Fantastic Four movie, Fox rushed one out so they wouldnt lose the rights to the characters.
