I thought we had a thread for this!

Got this for Christmas (only started it this week for various reasons) and I love it. The story is basically an excuse to cram as many characters as possible into the game, but that's a really good thing! The gameplay is really good fun as well. As usual it's typical Lego stuff, but the big characters and beam weapons are stupidly good fun and the flying is immense. It's Spider-Man 2 good in terms of the free roaming - I'm expecting to spend hours just blasting round the place as Iron Man :datass:

The humour is pretty much spot on, although my favourite in joke so far has nothing to do with Marvel at all - the phone box that flies past you as you're in the Bifrost

The game is immense and the flying hoops are incredibly frustrating due to the broken flying mechanism. And that go kart inverted controls on a roof is :|

I think I know which Go kart race you mean. It's not inverted. The controls are somehow weird as if you want to go right , to turn upwards you usually push the stick to the right as it's hard wired into your brain. But it doesn't work that way as you have to push up to go upwards.

Most of the racing ones are easy but I can't do the silver surfer challenge as the silver bald banana split always flew off quite rapidly as soon the race starts.

I normally play games with inverted controls but found is crazy that in this day and age the game doesn't give you the option to switch to inverted which makes flying more difficult.

It's the first Lego I've played with voice acting but the actors are a bit OTT. I think it is more charming to watch the Lego figures mime. I've got it on PS4 and some of the graphical effects are lovely like the giant Sandman but the gameplay I found a bit mediocre. I've completed it but don't feel compelled to spend much more time in the game world.

Did anyone else find the True Believer targets far too easy? I remember in Lego Star Wars the end of levels were incredibly tense as you tried to fully colour in that last bit of the bar, but they've all been a piece of piss so far (I've finished the main storyline and have done three or four of the missions that Deadpool narrates). I was going to try and do the True Believer targets without a multiplier, but they're so easy I'd rather just collect more studs to buy stuff.

I'm still absolutely loving the game though, I'm just flying round Manhattan collecting gold bricks and studs (and trying to find the other levels!), but there's always something fun to drop down and do. The racing controls are a bit weird, but once you get the hang of them they aren't too hard (Captain Britain's race being on the wrong side of the road was a lovely touch ).

The game is still full of glitches it seems.

On two seperate levels, I have 11 out of 10 minikits collected on one and 12 out of 10 minikits collected on another level. :dread:

From my calculations, even if I complete all the levels with the minikits all collected and stan in perils, I'll still end up with one less gold brick despite the fact I've pretty much completed every single possible gold bricks on the overworld map. :simper:

And done.

No interest in the Open World collectathon or digging out side missions.

For £6 on PC though I got my money's worth from the campaign, not overall challenging, but engaging throughout.

It told it's story well, and the levels felt like good progression. Characters/setting generally made it.

Think it's my favorite Lego game - maybe as I'm a Marvel comics fan boy it was great, but then I'm just sad we'll never see Ultimate Alliance ported to the PC

With renewed public interest in marvel thanks to avengers and cinematic universe, I think it's time they made a new ultimate alliance! But in keeping with original not dumbed down sequel.

I've got the PS4 version coming for my daughter's birthday next week. I was looking at getting the Super Heroes DLC pack to go with it but can only see it for the PS3.

Does anyone know if that would compatible with the PS4 version?

EDIT: I somehow completely missed that you could get the DLC from the Playstation store. Please ignore my ignorance.

Oh I don't think there's a PC version of XML  The other two are easily found at the usual bay. You could just emulate the Gamecube version with Dolphin, I suppose.
