Can't find a thread on this, but really hope more people are playing.

Just finished Episode 1 and well that was fantastic.

Gone Home meets Veronica Mars meets Tell Tale meet Twin Peaks.

Some dodgy lip sync and a few "bad teen" dialogue bits can't distract from an overall awesome package.

Beautiful imagery and soundtrack, a mystery that slowly unfolds with massive hints of what's to come...

Looking at some pages I missed a fair bit even though I chose to explore as much as I thought I could, and redid different routes...

Choices!

Told the principal the truth - that dude had a gun in school, was never going to do anything else. Seemed odd to leave out the girl through automatically

Let some guy draw me, and signed the "no camera" petition.

Comforted Victoria....but still later re-arranged her photos into the middle finger :D

Watered the plant...not sure what payoff this will have :)

Intervened to help Kate. I actually thought I could keep the picture from the alternate timeline (as the game suggested with the hammer earlier), but apparently not.

Routed through all the cupboards/evidence, but put everything back

Stayed hidden. Did this first, felt bad for Chloe getting slapped so tried the opposite...then saw she actually took a gun...stupid girl, so went back and let her get slapped. Also became clear my picture from before didn't exist, the Dad is hella creepy and I didn't want to be further on his radar.

I've played about an hour and a half of the first episode. Love it.

Great characterisation and dialogue, which can be really hard to pull off in a believable way in this type of setting without it being grating. The rewind mechanic is cool. This is exactly the type of game they should have made after Remember Me, which had a cool world but quite average gameplay, outside of the memory remixing. That they've built an entire game around that mechanic along with having a really solid storytelling approach makes me very excited to play more. It looks great too, love the painterly style.

Gosh, your story was quite different to mine in a number of ways - some of the choices you made were not even available to me.

I loved it too and can't wait to see what happens next.

Think I might wait to see if the second keeps up this quality before I jump on it. It sounds like a telltale game done "properly".

Yeah I read about this a few months ago and it sounded really interesting. I'll wait until all episodes have been released though as, if it's anything like Telltale, I can't stand the long, long waits between episodes.

I played through this this evening (yeah, the episode is pretty short). I think that the comparisons with Gone Home are not particularly accurate is, while is is not a particularly game-like game (more of an interactive drama) it offers more from the point of view of having actual characters in the flesh to interact with, even if some of their writing is kind of irksome (your best friend is a riot grrrl type who uses the word "hella" completely unironically). Telltale is more of an accurate comparison. There are some simple puzzles that are quite fun but not particularly challenging. Also, I would recommend it as I can see myself being interested in doing multiple play through just to see the consequences of certain actions; which has to be a good design.

Looks interesting but I have no idea if I could actually play it, is it a point & click type setup or is it ridiculously overcomplicated to control like Heavy Rain?

Played it last night, really enjoyed it. Love the soundtrack and graphical style. Better written than I was expecting. I hope Episode 2 is out early March, would like there to be a 4 week gap between episodes.

Gonna keep an eye on this, I'll nab it when episode three/four is out. I am quite forgetful for episodic games.

Very simple standard third person controls.

They've already commuted to the next one being out in March, so they seem to be aiming for smaller windows than Telltale

Finished Episode 1. So good.

I'm glad there's another developer really going after Telltale's crown. As much I love their stuff, they've definitely gotten a bit stagnant since finding a successful formula, so hopefully this type of competition will drive them to innovate a little more.

It's a crazy good period for episodic adventures games though between this, Game of Thrones, Borderlands, and Dreamfall.

I thought the writing and voice acting were both pretty strong myself. Also, Steam reviews are about as helpful as Amazon reviews. ;)

If you don't like Telltale's games at all then you're not going to like this any better, as it's definitely inspired by their output. I thought it was a lot more polished and well produced than Telltale's games though, and the story has certainly got off to a strong start.

They are following the template Telltale have set. Episode 2 is delayed and no new date given.

Is the I in Life supposed to be capitalised in the thread title? It's making my fists clenched every time I read it.
