Over on my other internet home, Pilkipedia, some guys have released a little platformer game thing based on the life of Karl Pilkington. Its free, obviously, and just a bit of fun. Thought some people here might be interested.

I'm going to have to sign up to Pilkipedia one day. I've listened to each XFM show, Bodcast and all the extra stuff around 5 times. Just started another run through.

I'll try this out.

Given that it's an amateur game, this may be one of those instances where constructive criticism may be useful.

Downloading the gooseberry fool out of this. I hope it has the horse in the house, the boys with big heads and webbed hands and the grub eating a biscuit.

The Life of KARL PILKINGTON..

Jezoc was something fictional Rick thought of.. ages before he met Karl... you know that..

why would it be there..

Because it's still part of the RSK universe? It would be a nice cameo.

Not that there's any shortage of things to put in there.

They're obviously not after constructive criticism, they know the game is awful but it's meant to be a bit of fun. But even as a fan of Karl, that wasn't fun.

Get off your high horse.

Jezoc productions is the name the guys used to make it. And considering it was made by a sql-coder and a 15 year old, i think, yeah, constructive criticism would be welcome. As for references, I've not played it yet (I'm having problems with install too), I'm pretty sure it'll be packed. If theres one group of people who know everything about RSK, its us Pilkipedians/Pilkipediennes.

Also, sign up BS, all new members welcome. :)

Rog - supporting the future of the dev community since never.

Is it actually possible for me to say anything without someone making some bitchy comment about "getting off my high horse", or "ironing"?

I agree though, how far can people realistically criticise something that was free and created by two people in a matter of weeks. And is in its Alpha build.

Don't say things in a snarky manner if you don't like how people react to it.

Supporting the dev community? Come on they're hardly the future of games development. Hyperbole to the extreme. How many times have you put down games from real developers.

As has been said the game is meant to be a bit of fun for Karl fans but it doesn't manage it and ends up annoying. I found it gooseberry fool so I said it was gooseberry fool. Hopefully people will see that and not waste their time with it apart from the real obsessives. I'm not going to change my opinion just because it was made by amateurs. And I'm definitely not going to give constructive criticism when I'm not even talking to the makers.

Bedroom coders are the future big-name developers. They're the ones with the imagination and drive to do it, purely because they enjoy it.

Yes but they make up a very small part. My point was more how you made it look as if I was trying to destroy the future of games development by saying a gooseberry fool game was gooseberry fool. It's two people have some perspective.

I like how you ignore the rest of the post and just continue with your exaggeration.

Should I rename the thread 'pointless pissing contest' or can you both grow up?

I swear people go out of their way to take offence at things I say. If anyone else had said it, there wouldn't be this problem.
