Best album I've heard in a while and comes close to beating Hybrid Theory, but we shall see after a few more listens and time.

Standout tracks are:

Lost in the Echo (Best track, possibly their best ever)
In My Remains
Burn It Down
Lies Greed Misery
I'll Be Gone
Castle of Glass (quite a different one)
Victimized (Heavy, brutal, metal)
Roads Untraveled
Powerless (Almost a movie like soundtrack)

What does everyone else think?

To be fair, most things in life come close to beating hybrid theory. Doing a tax return beats hybrid theory, forcing out a particularly stubborn gooseberry fool beats hybrid theory, mulling over what brand of breakfast cereal you want to purchase in Tesco that week beats hybrid theory.

Fair enough, but it's my favourite album ever in terms of rock/ nu-metal.

The white pony is an awesome album, I really love Hybrid Theory too, it came out at the right time for me, I was lost with the waves of shitty pop music, and it hit a nerve with me, like it's ok to feel different and angry! Sure it wasn't Slipknot - Slipknot, or Reign in Blood but at the time I could relate to that more.

Yeah, exactly. For me started its own genre. Some of their latest stuff is lighter for sure, but still listenable. I've yet to hear a poor song from them.

If it includes Golden Grahams then mulling over what brand of breakfast cereal you want to purchase in Tesco that week > hybrid theory (and I quite like bits of their first album and that one they did with Jay-Z).

Golden Grahams :datass:

Its garbage tier rock, but if you genuinely like nu-metal have you ever listened to The White pony by The Deftones? Cause linkin park always struck me as a piss poor imitation of that album

oh man that white pony album

the secret game if you play it on a PC

I used to like Linkin Park! I suppose they'd be a guilty pleasure now, the first two albums. Then the third album was boy band-y. And I'm scared to even go near A Thousand Suns.

I guess there wasn't a new Transformers film out this year, so they went with this instead.

You grow out of this kind of music. Although, I might give this album a go.

Usually I'd agree, but they seem to be one of the few nu metal bands that matured as the years have gone by.

Linkin Park need to strawberry float right off.

Meteora and Hybrid Theory were brilliant, after that they seemed to decide hey I know what will be good, lets become complete gooseberry fool and ruin the memory of everything we were with crap, dull, shitty songs.

The only bad song on Hybrid Theory was My December, which was a great pointer and crap that was to come.

Bastards.

Growing up is about listening to what you want and not giving a gooseberry fool. If they produced another Meteora/ HT I think most of us would have got bored.

Their latest album is pretty good though and their best since HT imo.
