That was hardly a confrontation. He just remarked on how everyone hates him.

I've just unsubscribed from Listen Up and Gamers With Jobs. I think I'm just getting burnt out on gaming podcasts in general.

Podcasts seem to follow a similar trajectory to message boards - so much excitement and passion at the start of a console generation until the dust settles, roles are defined, positions cemented, and everybody calms down.

I think it's got more to do with personality. People like Jeff Green and Shawn Elliott can practically carry a podcast on their own and others like Shane Bettenhausen and Luke Smith make amazing duos, but a bunch of boring people results in a boring podcast.

I'd recommend Out Of The Game. It's not amazing (and it's got N'Gai "I Wouldn't Know Funny If It Kicked Me In The Balls" Croal, but it's the best thing out there right now.

Yeah, OOTG is pretty good. The last episode felt a little bit like the Shaun and Robert Show (not that that's a bad thing) what with Jeff absent and Luke turning his mic off when he isn't talking.

N'gai is still N'gai.

Yep, it's out. Sadly lacking in Jeff Greene, but The Wreck Of The Medusa makes up for it.

Something else for those who are sick of the 'let's spend two hours talking inanely about the games we have been playing' school of videogame podcast:

http://www.whattheyplay.com/blog/categories/podcast/

John Davison talks to Columbine survivor and author Brooks Brown about the tragedy and the media's perception of videogames.

And John doesn't even mention the iPhone once.

Then what's the point?

But I'll listen to it anyway. :P

I had a couple of hours to kill so - against my better judgment - I redownloaded this episode of Listen Up.

"How many people are playing a Wii game thinking 'I wish the controls were more precise'? Nobody!"

That's the same complaint I come out with while playing an FPS with dual analogue controls...

You gotta love Ellis :x

Davison on Fallout 3 - "What was that city on the Aircraft carrier?"

Ellis - "Rust City"

:fp: :x

He then tries to correct Klepek:

Klepek on Steam sales - "they had Team Fortress 2 for like 99 cents"

Ellis - "Actually, it was the original Half Life"

:fp: :x
