A Way Out also has online co-op, I think he just misspoke.

A I thought so. Looks dull anyway.

No, he said split screen only.

Even if you play in online co-op what you'll see is a split screen showing both perspectives.

I thought it looked really good.

Is the conference over, then? Is it just this multiplayer event to finish it out?

Can you switch between first and third person in Battlefront?

It's the best way, saves splitting your userbase as everyone will have the same content. Keeps more people playing longer

Well, I think we have an easy winner for worst conference even though we haven't seen another one yet.

One Way Out looked interesting and the single player for Battlefront looks awesome. The rest of it, though.....

I can't imagine it's an altruistic move at all - they would do any and every bullshit microtransaction system if they could, but I guess that whatever projections/algorithms they've run show that giving away DLC makes them more money through good PR and sales than they would lose by doing it again.

They probably saw what Overwatch was doing. Wouldn't surprise me if there's loot crates and the usual micro transactions.

That will be the most boring conference this year yet again.

The traditional press conference format has had its day. This is why Nintendo's E3 directs and Treehouse stuff are always much more interesting.

What Sony did last year (and are doing again this year) is the way to go about it. Game after game after game with no bullshit in between.

Never saw Sony's last year. Can't be arsed staying up till stupid o'clock to watch it this year either so I'll just watch the trailers for the stuff that sounds interesting on Tuesday morning.

You actually have to have the games to show to be able to do that though. Any single publisher is going to struggle to compete with a platform holder.

It's also more forgivable for platform holders to show games years off as they sell consoles.

Forgot some relative flew in today so I had to spend some time at a family thing. Doesn't look like I missed much apart from the Bioware trailer through.

Thoughts:

Sports. Yawn. Boring. Next!

A Way Out looked surprisingly fun, and I liked how the split in the screen seemed to be dynamic depending on what each player is doing. I will definitely play Big-Nose McGee. The story looks dull, but gameplay-wise it should be highly entertaining.

Need For Speed looked pretty, but I don't know... I guess I would've preferred a good look at Criterion's new racer instead. Story looks like they're trying to reel in the Fast & Furious crowd.

Charity stuff, other things, weird footy duo...

Anthem. Looks like Mass Effect meets Destiny, sort of, but it could be The Last of Us meets Mass Effect for all we know. I hope it's good.

Battlefront II! A truly gorgeous game, presented by the most wonderful woman who I'm pretty sure everyone will be "thinking about" tonight. I still have some concerns, mainly about exactly how one goes about "unlocking" heroes and vehicles and alternative characters (Super Battle Droids), but yeah, I can see it eating up way more than the 200+ hours that I've played its predecessor. Reached level 100 on that today, actually.
