jawafour with his award. 2015 was a big year for jawa, with many a thread detailing his greatness.

Just logged on and saw that the Awards Show is happening live :o . DAN IS ON MY TV SCREEN! LIVE! Let's take a look...
Leftover Falsey Sandwich wrote:Jawafour gets my award for creepiest strawberry floater of the forever

Falsey disguising his true feelings. Such a sweetie  .

rudderless wrote:...Most importantly, in a year when we all bid an unexpected farewell to the late, great Satoru Iwata, it was a game that followed the president’s vision for Nintendo to the letter: it put smiles on faces.

Masterful words that totally hit the spot, rudderless. I seem to have something stuck in my eye... excuse me... *sniff*.

2 Dan.s until Christmas! wrote:...Most Entertaining Forumite of the year 2015...

I'm genuinely shocked. Outside of my dull Mr Logic posts and the odd mildly amusing picture, this must have happened because of my single joke about Nintendo shopping bags. And people remembered  . Thank you!

2 Dan.s until Christmas! wrote:...LOGO OF THE YEAR...

Oh boy. The graphical skills and inventiveness of the guys putting together the logos is something that I hugely admire. The Mario Maker one took things to a new level; whilst the Yoshi Woolly World one was also a personal favourite of mine. Whoever is the brain behind these artworks, I salute you and project a mighty bellow of "bravo!" in your direction. I'm still uncertain as to whether the man with the pixel paintbrush is Mocky or not. It's not. Is it?

>>> I'm loving the show so far, Dan. Boom here it is... LIVE :datass: .

Welcome back! Time for our next award, which is...

MOST MEMORABLE EVENT

Previous winners of this award:

2008 : Grumpy David on Total Wipeout
2009 : Glee-R-cade
2014 : Earl Grey's Awful Posts*

*If you're thinking that this won because 2014 didn't see many votes, think again - this was the most comprehensive winner of any from that year.

And the winner of the 2015 award for Most Memorable Event is...

...

...

GRCADE RAISE AN INCREDIBLE £3194.30 FOR SICK KIDS SAVE POINT!

There could be no other winner. An incredible achievement - and one that, if you've been living under a rock for the past twelve months, you can see here.

Huge congratulations to the individual entrants that made this happen - NBK, Cheeky Devlin, SlayerX, Karl and euan707. The most worthy winner of the night by far, and in my opinion not just the event of the year, but probably GRcade's finest ever moment.

So, how do we follow those most worthy of winners? By continuing with the spirit of giving. There are many of us, but some who are simply on hand to offer their aid, even when there's nothing in it for them. Which is why we're here to give back - an award for the...

With his second win of the night, jawa has equalled Chalky at the top of the all-time awards leaderboard, with three awards overall.

A Lurker's Opinion

Newfangled wrote:jawafour, eh? I'll let you in on a little secret: jawa and I were once colleagues at Sega. He's a plant, sent to infiltrate your forum and convince you all that Sonic Boom was worth buying. The game was mired with problems for the entire first year of its ridiculously protracted three-year development, and it was at the end of the first year that the plan was hatched. We found the company's most positive person and had him register on a spate of forums. I registered too at around the same time. I was always there, watching, making sure everything was going to plan... but it didn't. You took to him so readily, and he grew to love you in return. I knew he'd never come back to us. Disgusted at the lengths Sega were prepared to go to in order to ensure his return - and similarly disgusted at the amount of testing time they scrapped in order to accommodate their nefarious planning - I left, never to return, either to GRcade or Sega, afraid that a true reveal might threaten jawa's newly-safe position within your community. But now he's the three-times-awarded beating heart of GR, I know you'd never let that happen. I must go now - I hear the angry voice of Jürgen Post somewhere nearby...

Rumbled  . I did actually prefer the MS and the MD to the NES and the SNES.

RogueLeader wrote:2015 - A RogueLeader Review

2015. What a piece of work you were. A nasty piece of work? Perhaps. A lovely piece of work? At times. A delicious piece of pie? No thanks, I don’t eat gluten - because I’d be glued to the couch and weigh a tonne! You can have that, yeah? You can have that. Not for free, though. For £14.95. I accept PayPal, Indirect Debit, and cash-in-super-human-cyborg-hand.

So where to start? “January”, I hear you bellow. SHUT IT. I’m not doing it by months, as once I got to March I’d be stuck. Remember how we all just sat on our roofs and threw rocks down our local mineshaft that month? Bor-ing. Instead I’ll do it by categories. More engaging for an online audience, according to my friend Timid Pat - he works for Facebook as a travelling salesman / human statue. Always / never on the go, that one.

Politics
This was the year that we re-elected that crumbucket cronie. Then he did that thing with the farm animal. I am, of course, talking about my neighbour Cinnivus retaining his Neighbourhood King crown, and celebrating by cooking up a delicious hog roast for us all. I’ll eat your pork, Cinnivus, but you should know that I don’t like you. In fact, I voted for the other guy, the mysterious Roger L. Eader.

Sport
Football. Tennis. Golf. Rugby. These are just some of the sports that Cinnivus banned on our street during his reign of terror. OK, so I was using a brick instead of a ball for each and every one of those games, and calling Cinnivus’ garden “The RogueLeader Arena”, BUT STILL. Unreasonable.

Entertainment
The dying wish of a close friend (he was 124 years old, you know) should be respected. We all agree on that, right? So why, then, was I banned by a certain neighbourhood monarch from playing Old Jilligers’ skeleton like a xylophone during this year’s talent show? He said it was because it was a competition for the under-10s, but I think it’s because he was jealous of my insane xylophonics.

Worst Neighbourhood King
Cinnivus, without a shadow of a doubt. I don’t care how much money he raises for charity ($9,000,040), or how many orphans he saves from our local mineshaft (213). I mean, the guy can’t even keep a clean garden - it’s covered in bricks and broken glass. Shameful.

Technology
As another year goes by, the technological advancement in the 21st century hurtles on, much like I just hurtled through Cinnivus’ front window. An alarm started blaring and hollering, but I disabled it without even skipping a beat - I did this by severing my real arms and replacing them with super-human cyborg arms (now with Wi-Fi). Let’s see what skeletons are in your closet, Cinnivus - I need him back to practice for next year’s talent show.

So here I sit, typing away at Cinnivus’ pathetic excuse for a computer, leaving crude comments under Flobber’s unboxing videos. I’ve left this address, so he should be here any minute to “trash the bathroom, punch the walls, and burn the fridge”. Cinnivus thought I wouldn’t find his precious crown, but he was wrong. Now it’s sitting proudly on my head. Does that make me the real Neighbourhood King? Yes. Yes it does.

Happy new year, folks. Hope you have a fantastic 2016. I know I will.

Wait wait wait... How on Earth did I win most entertaining forumite last year? And how did I not know this? Whoa. Retroactive feels.

Anyway, can't think of anyone more deserving of taking the greasy, greasy crown than Jawa. His PS4 Fallout group alone was worthy of the title.
