Liverpool is my home.

Pros:

Good public transport
Good high street shopping
Cheaper living expenses than the south
VERY good wide variety nightlife
Hot girls
Easy access to Ireland and within an hours drive of rural areas of Wales and Lake District
City Centre newly regenerated due to capital of culture
Despite being a city, has a community feel

Cons:

Everton
Too many of the lower class have a cocky attitude
Looked down upon by snobs whithout a clue

Thats all I can think of right now, I'll return if I remember more.

Back in business after a lengthy absence from gaming and Grcade.
Recently got myself a PS4 with FIFA15, TLOU, DriveClub and MW:AW.

I don't like it particularly, but then I'm not a fan of British cities particularly. I've got family there though, so go occasionally, and they seem to like it there.

I like how everyone assumes the motives behind a completely innocuous comment are sexual.

Bloody wool.

Liverpool is a great city, and is a nice place to work, with a great nightlife. I'm sure you'd enjoy it Aeris.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Is anyone on here by any chance living in Liverpool (or has been)? If so, could you please tell me what living there is like? What are the living expenses and activity options like? Is there a lot of sports going on besides football? Are the flats warm, dry with a good water pressure from the taps? Is the crime rate (mugging, stabbing, whatnot) bad? I'd highly appreciate if you could help me out with a bit of info on that :)

Thanks!

If England was a human body, Liverpool would be the anus.

Don't you live in Luton?

I live in Liverpool, and it is a great place. Awesome shops, good transport links, fun (and cheap!) nightlife, and it's a really friendly place. Manchester and London are easy enough to get to.

I currently spend £425pcm on a 1 bedroom flat, unfurnished but with white goods. I live on the borders of Wavertree, Toxteth, Kensington and the city centre. It's nice, quite studenty (as it's ten minutes away from three universities), and close to the centre. Stay away from Kensington though, seriously. It's like every bad Liverpudlian stereotype has been concentrated into that one area. It's a shithole! Nowhere near where you need to work, so just go there for the bowling alley and get the strawberry float out ASAP

From where you say you'll be living, I'd recommend the Allerton/Wavertree areas (like Spacejebus did). I'd also have a look in Childwall (pronounced Chill-wall), it's a little bit away from Allerton, but it's got really nice houses. The only downside is that it's not directly on the bus route you need to get to John Lennon Airport, but it might be worth a look as it's not that far. Also look at places around Sefton Park/Prince's Park (Lark Lane is around there). These places are lovely as well, but they're a bit isolated if you don't drive in my opinion.

I'm up for a beer the day of your interview as well, is it next Wednesday (i.e. the 27th January?)
