Great opening post Monkey Man.
I've been looking forward to the games ever since London won the bid and they have done a fantastic job with the park.

Anyone read about all the conspiracies surrounding the Olympics?

This one is my favorite...

Alien invasion hoax hinted for Olympics

There could be a false flag UFO alien invasion during the London Olympic games this summer, if rumors on the Internet are to be believed.

Apparently, the BBC is producing a documentary which explores various conspiracy theories, including one about extraterrestrials visiting the Olympics later this month. Some people contend the documentary is a secret trigger for the false flag plan to move ahead.

According to the theory, nefarious earthly interests would use holography to stage a mock UFO invasion, in order to drum up support for increased military funding. The plan is scare enough people so the government could go ahead with development of the "Star Wars" program.

This sounds completely absurd, and will likely never happen, but you never know. The international games would be the perfect venue for ETs who wanted to introduce themselves to humans, because all the nations of the world are gathered in one place. Anything is possible, right?

With all of the hysteria surrounding the 2012 Mayan prophecy, and the uptick in UFO sightings all over the world, the populace is ripe to be fooled by a fake alien invasion. According to a new poll from National Geographic, more than one-third of Americans believe in UFOs, significantly up from just a couple of years ago.

One of my friends actually believes this and has been going on about it for months now :fp: "When it happens, don't be scared, its not real".

It doesn't make sense. Why can't women play football? If these are the eleven best players in the UK then bow bad must the rest be?

Kelly Smith's pretty good actually. No wonder she plays for Arsenal.

I'm watching on Sky and the commentary seems slightly ahead of the picture. A bit annoying.

Does anyone know what the entertainment is going to be like in London over the Olympics? Will shops, restaurants & what not be staying open later?

They should have given every pub in the country a two week 24 hour license. That would have boosted enthusiasm.
