Half-time in the GB v NZ game, going through some highlights of one of the GB defenders...

'And every pass she has found a GB player.'

Apart from the one at the start of the clip, straight to the NZ girl before picking up the ball after her mate tackles her.

Which events are people going to anyway? Haven't got any tickets myself but will be watching the sports on TV that interest me.

I've got no tickets.

However, they are closing off lots of roads in my area this weekend for the cycling races, so I may watch some of that as it's local.

We're watching volleyball on Sunday, table tennis next Tuesday, football and beach volleyball on the Saturday afterwards.

Basketball and beach volleyball here. Highlight will probably be visiting the world's biggest McDonald's, I'm sure.

Please.

What's the issue?

Every time I hear the phrase 'Team GB', I burst a blood vessel. They're even using it in the promos. It's not Great Britain vs. Senegal. It's Team GB vs. Senegal.

strawberry floating stupid.

Not as stupid as letting words get you angry.

If it's the same woman it was at the start of the show it'd have been Faye White.

No other country feels the need to try and rebrand themselves, though. There's no denying it's a fairly stupid thing to do.

I'm pretty sure 'Team USA' is a pretty famous term.

Why aren't you providing this advice in the 'What Annoys You' thread? You could solve so many people's grievances. :simper:

Anyway, what Frank said. Why are they trying to rebrand us? It's like they're trying to create some imaginary 'they're all in this together' idea. That Chris Hoy and Tom Daley hang out after work as team mates, and that the pistol shooters are just waiting to congratulate their women's football team mates after their victory over Team NZ.

So why the strawberry float did people stand outside to see that stupid flame, but when an actual Olympic event is on in their city the entire stadium is empty?

Because not many people in the UK will care about the Olympic football when it's generally of a much lower standard than we get every weekend for the rest of the year.
