Just caught up on the first two episodes. Cracking stuff, good to have it back.

Doesn't feel as compelling as perhaps as the other series nor as strawberry floated up and dark (which is a good thing I think) but still plenty of time to become so :dread:

I have to be honest, but this series overall has been pretty weak compared to the last 2 seasons, not on par at all. I thought tonight's episode was just ridiculous and pretty stupid. last weeks has been the best thus far imo.

I really don't know how they can hope to top S2. The random brutality of it and the way the guy(s?) played it was just dark as strawberry float. Not to mention the finale.

The story in season 2 was great, but the plot this season has been pretty laughable. I mean tonight was like something charlie brooker would write from his black mirror series. It just wasn't believable in the slightest. Why would Luther send his m8 off after the the guy with no backup knowing he's armed. It was just so silly. And I wish they'd drop the sub plot with the scottch bloke and black women trying to get dirt on Luther, I thought it was done in the last episode, but they're still perusing that side story.

Also I can't believe Ripley got shot. Could see it coming a mile off with hindsight, but still, what a shitter. He's blatantly dead too. Annoying.

First two series I didn't watch the preview of the next episodes that are at the end of each episode, wish I carried that on.

Its as bad as channel 5, way back when, with the Greys anatomy bomb episode. In america it was on super-bowl night and it was a total surprise that thebomb exploded at the end of the episode, turning the bomb disposal expert into pink mist and throwing grey 20 feet back. Channel 5 used the explosion to advertise the episode and it would have totally change the episode to waiting for it rather than it coming completely unexpectedly.

Last Luther episode I knew Luther was going to dodge a shotgun bullet and I knew when, and next time I know he is going to get shot. It really does kill the element of surprise, its bad enough that I can usually often predict what is about to happen on a lot of TV shows, Coronation Street is particularly bad for that.

Epic last episode . Wow .

Was that the season finale ? Surely not after only 4 episodes .

Aye. Probably the series finale as well though there are vague plans for a movie.

Really hope that's not the last we see of Luther. Great Character.

Fantastic last episode. Would have been so much better had I not spent literally half of it (going by the time)) waiting for Luther to get shot, because the BBC spoiled it before I could shut off the iplayer last week. Seriously, the whole of the confrontation I knew what was going to happen. Really livid at the idiots at the BBC. You think I'm not gonna watch the bloody finale?

I saw an advert for the finale showing Justin getting shot. Problem was, this was the day after that episode was on TV and I hadn't had time to watch it yet. They really need to sort that gooseberry fool out.

Anyway, this series wasn't very good. 1 & 2 were much better.

Having watched every episode for the first time in the last few weeks, I'd rank the seasons 1>2>3. Really not enough Alice and Paul McGann is the most recent seasons.
