Oh yeah silly me I didn't :simper:

It just wasn't up to the usual high standards set by the other ones IMO.

I think it's going to end with draper jumping out of a window just like in the opening titles, or at least faking his death and becoming Dick again.

Referring more to your last comment. There was just as much advertising stuff as there's always been.

Like your ideas. We should start up our own advertising company, or something.

'Mad Men' final season, 14 episodes, to air in 2 parts in 2014, 2015

"Mad Men" fans will have a bit longer to say goodbye to Don Draper.

Following a trend set by "Breaking Bad," the seventh and final season of "Mad Men" will air in two, seven-episode halves, AMC announced Tuesday. The first half of the season, dubbed "The Beginning," will air in spring 2014. The second, "The End of an Era," will air in spring 2015.

"This approach has worked well for many programs across multiple networks, and, most recently for us with 'Breaking Bad,' which attracted nearly double the number of viewers to its second-half premiere than had watched any previous episode,” said AMC President Charlie Collier. “We are determined to bring 'Mad Men' a similar showcase."

Series creator and showrunner Matthew Weiner expressed enthusiasm about the storytelling potential of the two-part final season.

"We plan to take advantage of this chance to have a more elaborate story told in two parts, which can resonate a little bit longer in the minds of our audience,” he said. “The writers, cast and other artists welcome this unique manner of ending this unique experience.”

"Mad Men" debuted in 2007 and has since become one of television's most acclaimed programs, winning the Emmy for outstanding drama series four straight times. It is nominated for 12 prizes at this year's ceremony.

The seventh season of "Mad Men" (which is going to be split over two years, like the final season of "Breaking Bad") will debut on Sunday, April 13 at 10 p.m.

Tell me something people. Why is this like Breaking Bad a series split over two years, and not just called two separate series? Is it that it is the same storyline and subplots continued as opposed to separate series' which normally tie up everything neatly at the end or summin else?

I imagine it's because saying a show is in its final series boosts ratings a little.

Also because AMC

Typical episode "orders" from networks come in 13's or 23's. So a 13 epsiode season is being split into two. This is why with some shows you hear of "getting picked up for the back 10" (so taking an order from 13 upto 23) - often happens with comedies which have shown to be successful.

To add to the other reasons given it can also be for money/contract reasons. Recently Haven, which normally is a 13 episode season, was announced for a 26 episode season shown over 2 years. This was due to the cast and crew qualifying for a pay rise in the 2nd season which now isn't officially happening even though it actually is.

For Mad Men specifically it's a combo of contracts, limited fan backlash, it worked for BB & they can advertise their new 2015 shows to AMC viewers.

Just getting through season 4 and for some reason, I have a hatred for Sally. Really dislike her in this show. I think it was the whole jealously thing in S3

Back tonight in the US!!! Starts Wednesday on Sky Atlantic.

Mad Men returns for the first seven episodes of its 14 episode, split-season run with a fantastic first episode chock filled with hints about the paths our favorite characters may take.

The premiere is as buoyant as it is deep, light as it is layered. It is many things at once, including absolutely fantastic. Grade: A

Evaluated merely as one episode competing against all the previous episodes in the series, this one is pretty spectacular.... Mad Men is back, looking as vibrant as ever.

Mad Men can still keep us spellbound.

Great return Don's scene with Neve Campbell on the plane was excellent and something new for the character. Peggy's breaking down was really sad too, she's so close to getting what she wants. I reckon Mad Men will end with Don quitting his job after a brief return and offering his role to Peggy, who declines it so she can be happy in her personal life rather than pursue a career. I also think Don will buy Anna's house in California
