Really enjoyed II. While the gameplay was merely decent, what really got me hooked into it was the story. Can't wait for the new game. Hopefully we'll get a more busy world with more things to do.

I really liked the little houses you got in 2

Shame that they really just served as padding, giving you an extra drive before each mission

Looking at the cars I'm guessing this is set in the 60s/70s; could be interesting.

Ooh! Good job spotting that the cars are from a later period than MII's setting.

First two Mafia games are some of my favourite games ever, felt the comparisons to GTA always hurt the way both games were viewed. Mafia games are all about the story, the city isn't meant to be a big open playground like in GTA games, merely a background for the story to unfold in. Absolutely can't wait for this, hopefully they can match the story telling of the previous games.

Really liked Mafia II so I'll be looking forward to this reveal.

Ah, i got mafia 2 for 'free' via ps plus and enjoyed the small portion i had played, but felt that it just ran like a dog on the ps3 and would want a hd remaster of it.

Will be interesting to see what open world gtaesque games will be released in the next 3 years as there won't be a new gta for a while!

I very much enjoyed the first Mafia game....except for that very awkward sex scene.

I couldn't enjoy that. It was just weird.

I'm totally down for this - Mafia 2 was ace but the setting was starting to get a bit played out, so this should be very interesting.

Nice to see a crime game not set in New York, LA or Chicago

I like the sounds of this already to be honest, the setting of it looks pretty good. Sounds like they'll be tackling some of the racial issues that were rife around that time period. His voice is a little interesting but i like that they're approaching this from a different angle so to speak, it almost sounds like his aim is to take out the Italian/American mafia and take over. Gunplay looks very similar to Mafia 2 (looks better in motion than the screenshots suggest). Judging by the IGN interview it sounds like they'll be making up for some of the areas that Mafia 2 was definitely lacking in.

Some folks are saying the guy with the Grey hair at the end is Vito from the second game.

Looking around at the reaction at other forums and stuff, very reminiscent of the response when CJ was unveiled as the playable character in San Andreas :dread:

Nice to see a game with a non-white lead for a change as well.

I was going to say it is refreshing that the game is that bit different from other open world games. I just hope the actual game is good!

Ugh. Can't you people just be happy ruining GTA?

How can I even understand the motivations of a black character when I myself am not black?

The gameplay demo for this looked very very slick, basically like a finished game. Makes me wonder if this will be out next summer

Did you get to see the game in action at Gamescom Skippy?
