What could they possibly reveal apart from the fact that the aircraft was not experiencing difficulties before being hit?

I think it is just the desire to do a proper investigation. Also the rebels are claiming they have the black boxes, and are waiting to give them to investigators.

From this mornings news it would appear the only Government leader to speak with Putin was our very own Cameron, Germany and the U.s who you'd think are the two other "big" players haven't bothered and just continued down the route of diplomats.

You'd think getting Obama on the old blower might have some weight behind it, but it appears he hasn't, not one strawberry float is given, or they've forgotten how Russian politics works.

Well played Cameron, making an effort is at the very least a credit imo.

That's really shitty, although not that surprising. The media are dicks, desperate for any scrap of information, regardless of whether it's important or relevant. They're always looking for something emotive, even though there's no need at all to show or tell most of what they output. It's gone way beyond being news, it's basically real-life entertainment and drama that they're looking for (not saying this is entertainment, just that's what the news tries to be in general).

It makes me cringe when I watch it.

Why is the Sky News and Colin Brazier in so much trouble and C4 gets away scott free?

It's abhorrent behaviour in both cases, wonder why no one has jumped on Matt Fry.

So?

As leaders of their countries they have to look past personal feelings and work gooseberry fool out.

There have been leaders in the past that have hated each other and put that aside to sort out what's what.

Sending Kerry all over the place like a little message boy and not addressing Putin directly, as Cameron has done, will do nothing in the eyes of the Politburo, sorry, Putin. he's a head of state, he wants addressed by other Head's of state, otherwise he really doesn't care, or believe Obama cares, it's how the Ruskie Leaders have always worked.

I suspect only a tiny few would be able to actually phone Putin up. The best most governments can do is talk to diplomats.

It's kind of pathetic the way the Ruskis are trying to point the blame elsewhere, they're the worlds equivalent to a rabid dog just shamelessly do gooseberry fool like assassinate opposition on foreign soil with not so subtle radioactive substances, military exercises outside their borders, and annex territories not for some form of jihad or noble cause but for the sake of pure greed. Of course they wouldn't dare do this gooseberry fool in China's borders they pick on smaller former eastern bloc states like Georgia & Ukraine. They should just admit they dun goof and assisted a group of bandits by providing them with military hardware too overwhelming for the village idiots they gave it to, to handle. It's no different to the Americans by assisting shady foreign groups to do their bindings the only difference is that they manage to keep their gooseberry fool hush hush

Well that's one of the things being debated here, some experts are saying that the SAM launchers would have been too complicated for the rebels and that it was actual Russian soldiers operating it. Considering that the rebel commanders themselves have admitted to "not being locals" it seems very likely that the Russians wouldn't trusts these rebels to operate a multimillion dollar piece of hardware like a missile launcher.

But why would they do it?

The Ukrainian forces didn't do it, I can't see any reason for them to bring it down. I honestly don't think Russia did it, for the same reasons, what advantage would it give Russia?

I still think it was the Rebs, they've got a missle launcher, most likely Russian made, and they've brought the plane down thinking it's a Ukrainian military aircraft.

That being said, it isn't the first time the Russians have hit a domestic flight in error before...

Aren't people blaming Russia because they have been arming the rebels with these weapons which they've allegedly used to shoot down the aircraft? It seems to have been Russian armed rebels, obviously untrained in how to use these missiles, accidentally shooting down a passenger jet.

I think people believe they were trained, because otherwise they wouldn't have been able to operate the missile launcher. Let alone hit a jet in the sky.

Trained to fire a missile, but not enough training to identify a passenger jet I suppose. Whatever the reason is, it's a strawberry floating disgrace.

Can you differentiate between a passenger jet and a military cargo plane from 30-40,000 feet away?

Experts said at the time that it was basically impossible.

A Vince Di Cola soundtrack? Sign me up.

Putin scares the gooseberry fool out of me. Kudos to Cameron for actually doing something, no matter how inconsequential it will probably be.
