The lack of new tracks is a big disappointment, I'll still probably buy this but might hold off a little while. It's a shame because 2 new cups and I'd definitely have picked it up. I love battle mode and am really excited about it returning in its proper form, however unlike grand prix mode it's not something I'll play a lot of in single player. The new characters and two items are a nice addition but enough to get me to part with £45 - probably not.

Oh, sure. They don't want people to not know what to buy out of the massive lineup of five games available at launch. And then they need a full month to be able to process the sheer glory of SnipperClippers, Fast RMX and Has Been Heroes before they're ready to experience a three year old game.

9 games over 2 months. Truly, a "stream" of games.

I wonder of they will support this with new DLC tracks or if they will go ahead and make MK9? This MK was as close to perfection as they could get and now they have sorted the battle mode it would seem a waste if they never carried on supporting it

I would love for them to take the approach of offering DLC for MK8 every 6 months or so. Instead of making a new MK, keep updating this one. I agree that it's about as close to perfection as they can get-they don't need a new one. Just keep giving us more content.

Saying that, they can probably make more money selling a brand new MK in 2-3 years then offering 3-4 DLC packs over that time.

Yeah, if they'd packed 12 Switch with the console, and had MK8 and Arms ready for launch, all of a sudden it would be looking a lot stronger and they wouldn't have got the backlash they've had.

I never got around to buying a Wii U so this is a game I'm really looking forward to.

I wonder if they will be adding Mii costume support for all the amiibos they have currently released?

I meant costumes for amiibos that are not pictured above.

What those Mario Kart screen shots show is that the power of a system is completely irrelevant.

I can see this Edition being very appealing to Switch owners; after all, it is one of the greatest racing games ever!

But... as a Wii U owner, it does feel a little like "uhm, I've already got this". I know that sounds grumpy and, to be honest, if I did have the money for the console and the game then I would be totally caught up in the excitement and buy it; purely so that I could play alongside you guys online.

I feel that Mario Kart 9 would have forced my hand into buying the console at launch, whereas this seems to be a fairly minor upgrade.
