It looks like the Switch Mario Kart lot had a pretty catastrophic night with technical problems etc, no-shows etc.
You should have joined us Wii U racers - we had a classic night!

Thanks again was another fun night was a bit cheeky and started after wii u races.
Thanks to Pedz and Jazzem for some great games and staying on for my whole 16 races
Next week I should be on from the start
P.S. sorry pedz for picking random and getting a crap course. The one with dry bones can't remember the name.
I had twitch on in the background as I still don't have the chat thing and laughed a lot at your reaction

Is the tournament-joining problem I had a common thing? I could join public games ok, and it put me straight to spectator mode, but when I tried to join you guys it just dumped me on the course select screen on my own. I could only get in by joining Jazzem.

It happens occasionally, rinks. When you get put into spectator mode, you are in place to join the next race once that one finishes. If you ever get the "I'm in the room on my own" situation then, yeah, it's the time to exit and try joining via a friend.
I suspect the servers are particularly busy at present due to the game being pretty new and selling well. Hopefully Nintendo will ramp up the sever system as the console becomes more popular.

Yep, this is definitely the case. Last night I played a tournament on the Switch version followed immediately by the GRcade Mario Kart Monday tournament on the U version, and the Switch version has lost the "overall current ranking" chart after each race. It seems like a odd omission... I wonder why Nintendo has changed it?

A game update has been released and, amongst a few changes, the tournament clock has been fixed.

I dunno if you have altered the time, Qikz, but the tournament is now set to start at 21:00 (UK) so all is good
