Yeah, that help section gives some guidance on specific manoeuvres. The basic button controls are printed on the inside of the case.

Having said that, I have to agree that manuals are very much missed. I like to have the control layout on a bit of paper in front of me when I play a game!

I don't think I'm going mad here, but there are a few more differences between the U and Switch versions that I've noticed when playing tournament mode. On the U you could display a message on the "course select" screen right up until the last person had chosen; now the cut-off point is earlier. And when the individual race result points are displayed, on the U an overall points total is then briefly displayed (i.e. the table is re-ordered into overall ranking) - but on the Switch this is not shown. So, uh, yeah!

Just jump in. It's the best way to learn the game and you'll get better faster than you will playing solo. Plus it's more fun. Just enter the code and try and join that way. If that doesn't work, make sure you have some of us on your friends list and try to join on one of us.

It's Mario Kart Mondays. It's when we've always played Mario Kart and we do play the Switch version throughout the week as well. People can play it on whatever platform they want, as evidenced by Jawa playing on Wii U tonight.

Seriously, the amount of salt and moaning from people here is ridiculous. It's a game, a damn good game and from what I can see the Wii U version has had a decent turn out even since Deluxe came out. If anything it seems to have bolstered it a bit.

There's every need as the timing of your group is deliberately provocative and detrimental to ours. Telling me to grow up when the act of putting the group at the same time can only be classed as childish is a little rich.

I can see both sides of the argument the Switchers are have the new one and want to play etc. the issue I see it is that the U has always been Monday and the Switchers (Jawa excluded) seem to want to take the slot regardless that the U players are still there.

Personally I dont care all that much, but for those without a Switch I can see how it could seem like a dick move to go "yeah so we aren't playing on the U now and we are taking your day too because Switch", it wouldn't be hard for the Switch stuff to be on another day and you guys to still be able to come and play rather ditching the U and all who play it.

That said, the level of abuse is totally uncalled for and should stop.

It's a shame that such a cool game(s) has created a small disagreement. The Monday night karting slot has proven popular in GR for three years and, whilst in the future I can see the Switch version carrying on that flame, at this time it feels a little off to setup stall in exactly the same time slot.

Sure, folk are free to choose which version they play and when to play it... but, at this time, there seems little benefit in dividing the player base.
