It's good, definitely. Variety in courses, with a good selection of characters [even if I only used Toad]. I still haven't got the hang of the drifting on it, but the item roulette thing at the start means you can end up with some good offensive or defensive weapons. You get three [attack, defend, special] and one race I had the starman special - which is overpowered as you can still get it even in first. Easy victory.
Played more of the arcade Mario Kart Deluxe, and had a wheel that was pretty much perfect. Gliding in the game feels irrelevant, as there's no way to control the descent, but at least I'm getting the hang of the drifting now. Oh, yeah. The weapons are pretty much bonkers. There's a special that turns your kart into a cream pie.
I'll be back on this wiik, having hacked the ridiculous amount of items from GP Deluxe into the Switch game. Don't mind me if you see a giant Bowser shell roaming the track or a pie kart driving around. I'm joking. I actually stole the unit and converted it to run 8 Deluxe instead.
