Didn't get on well yesterday, was just getting angry at being stuck in strawberry floating 10th or whatever for every sodding race and whenever I got anything close to doing well I would get pummeled to strawberry float by shells and gooseberry fool and boom back to strawberry floating 10th.

Stick with it, Errkal... you'll get better the more you play. I only play the game on Mario Kart Mondays and I spent two years getting my backside kicked pretty much non-stop. In the past year I have improved and - occasionally - won a race 8-) .

You gotta remember that we are dealing with some major, major gits on the track. The sort of people that delight in nudging you off the edge and shoving a red shell up your backside right on the line. They're GRcadans and so, of course, we love them to bits... but on the track they're just evil. Keep cool, keep learning and one day you'll storm through :toot: .

I'm getting better, I think I need to change the wheels I'm using, changing the kart has made a massive difference.

Problem I guess is I am a crap loser get stroppy way to easily, especially when I'm doing well and get pummeled by a mass of shells and stuff.

Funnily enough, it's good practice to be stuck at the back of the pack as you do tend to get pummelled by shells and stuff. Bit by bit you'll improve... a key aspect is learning the tracks and that takes time; ideally you'll get to know every turn and when to slide and when to accelerate. For example, I used to hate that Yoshi track that has lots of tight turns (the island that is shaped like Yoshi). However, now I have got used to it and quite enjoy racing on it.

There are still some dodgy tracks like Cheeseland and Sweet Canyon (I think that's it?), and the racers that take unknown shortcuts to gain the lead are infuriating... but keep playing and you'll get better. Honestly, if I can get reasonable at it, anyone can  .

I really wish people would start on time or if there are only one or two players in the group - just hang fire for a minute or two.

So people should be ready to start on time... unless you're not? ;) .

Considering Herbi had virtually disappeared from the karting scene, he was certainly bossing a few races out on the track last night.

Herbi is Harry Bizzle, right? I get lost with folk having second names around here  .

The first race last night was just Jawa and me, which I won!

Is there a way to ensure we can all start at the same time...so let's just say there are only 2 of us in the lobby at 9pm, if we quit and re-enter, will we join everyone else, or will the countdown start?

Kind of my point - it's a guaranteed 15 pts.

Oh come on! I've won several - SEVERAL - races during the past year and, in recent months, I've finished up on roughly similar points to many folk :toot: .
