Nice play, dude. You should join in more regularly... I think you'd provide some good quality competition for GRcade's stronger Karters .

When I was racing last night, I was regularly getting bashed aside by other karters... and I don't know how they were doing it. It's as if they had more strength or power. Is there a particular method of doing this?

Depends on what you feel you need more of. The game does show you what your set up does.

AXL, did you know that you can press "+" on the car setup screen to see how the various components affect the car stats?

Even so, I'm never quite sure if I have the optimum setup - I think you have to try different kit out to see if you like it or not. I prefer using my Mii character (dat Pac outfit ) but everyone else in the GR races uses a "proper" character. For example, I believe that Wario and Bowser are heavier characters so perhaps that is why they can knock me around more easily on the track?

Heavier ones have a higher top speed and are more likely to knock people out the way (it seems to depend on other factors like speed to) but they also have a slower acceleration. I think it might effect the handling to. Mii character depends on the actual size of the Mii you created. TBH it doesn't really matter all that much who you choose because you can balance it out with the set up. I use to change my set up slightly for 200cc nights. Oh I miss those. And team events.

For me it's the "normal" cars that are the most comfortable, but it's hard to know what 2 years or so of practice does.

Turnout looked fantastic last night, I wish I joined in but was playing Xenoblade instead.

Hmmn... I may have to try out different setups. Thing is, I only really play on the GRcade kartin' nights! I really didn't get on with 200cc mode. It was, for me, way to manic. 150cc is the optimum!

I meant to say, when we had a few new (or returning) racers last night I'm sure I saw some people doing new shortcuts. I even did one myself - accidentally, of course! - on the Yoshi circuit when I zoomed through a waterfall. I wasn't sure where I was going an immediately drove into the water on the other side .

It's a shame no one uses mumble, like when I was playing. No fun to stream with no mumble action.

I stopped using Mumble because I was the only one there on some nights so now I play on the comfy couch in the living room where it'd be weird to start talking to people on the mic when the rest of my family is around. I'll play from my room next week and jump onto if you're playing.

Yeah, I think I may, depends if people are on mumble or not. Tbh the majority of the fun I have from Mario Kart is chatting, the game itself annoys the living strawberry float out of me tbh.
