Not got this yet in large part because I don't even have a Switch yet but I look forward to getting it eventually. Bizarre lack of customisation for freeplay, and shame the singleplayer content seems a little slim, but neither are dealbreakers as I'm mainly in it for the multiplayer and online. Hopefully the game is fairly more affordable by the time I get round to getting the console.

Such a bizarre difficulty curve! I didn't find the boss after nearly as bad, though frustratingly I just barely lost out to time

I meant the Kamek rally challenge.

I'm on the kamek rally challenge now :dread:

The lack of a restart level button on the pause menu or immediately after failing a level is a huge oversight. Having to go back to the map each time is a right pain.

I won against him but I wasn't focusing on winning the tennis match but ended up trying for KO which makes it more bearable. What Rog said is also valid tactic, but if you're struggling with him try to break all of his rackets, it should two ZR shots to shatter one tennis.

I'm stuck on the challenge vs Kamex though :(

KO's are such bullshit. I don't think zone shots straight from serves should be a thing.

Has anyone been keeping up with this? They seem to have been adding more and more to the game with mini games and such. I barely played it at launch but it seems a great time to go back to it

The whole game will be F2P for online subscribers from 7th-13th August

Cool... but probably won't download it, I'm in the middle of other things

I like the idea of this; I bought the game at launch but sold it around two days later because it didn't feel like it had a lot of content. Since then it seems that a lot of new additions and updates have been made, so I'd like to try it again. I will check out this trial week :toot: .

Good timing. Was thinking of getting this but have heard the online hasn't been too active and that there's not too much singleplayer content. Will definitely give it a go while it's free.

Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova among Mario Tennis entrants for $1M charity prize

Maria Sharapova is coming out of retirement to play. Serena Williams is embarking on another Grand Slam quest. Kevin Anderson, a 2018 Wimbledon finalist, is about to discover what it's like to play doubles with an NFL quarterback.

Those athletes and others will take part in the "Stay at Home Slam" on Sunday. The event will feature top tennis players teamed with celebrities playing Mario Tennis Aces for Nintendo Switch. The virtual event will be streamed to a live audience.

It's another attempt to keep tennis in the public eye at a time when the coronavirus pandemic has shut down the professional game until at least July 13.

Williams is playing with supermodel Gigi Hadid while, among others, Naomi Osaka partners with model and TV personality Hailey Bieber, Sharapova teams with model Karlie Kloss, Kei Nishikori joins DJ and producer Steve Aoki, and Anderson partners with Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The competitors will play the game in their homes, all for the same $25,000 sum that they will then donate to the charity of their choice. The winning team will receive an additional $1 million to donate.

Viewers will be able to watch avatars playing, along with live feeds from the athletes in their homes. ESPN analyst John McEnroe and YouTube personality Justine Ezarik will provide commentary. The event will be streamed on Facebook Gaming and the IMG Tennis Facebook page.

I really need to play this, I played in briefly at launch but haven not really put much time into it. Was it a lot better after the updates?

Gameplay is brilliant with very well realised concepts but content is light to say the least. If you’re not looking for multiplayer (online or local), it’s not going to last you very long at all.

I’d love to pick this up played it a bit on someone’s console reminds me of Virtua Tennis. But £40-50 for a 2 year old game I just can’t.

So I finally started playing this, just going through Adventure Mode and some free play matches and I really like it. I like the variety of matches in Adventure Mode (I’m only early at the mo) and it does look great, the matches play great as well.

What you are calling "early at the mo" is probably halfway through just to warn you...

Christ, is it that short  I’ll likely play multiplayer once that’s done though as it’s really fun to play.
