Couldn't see a thread on this, but there's a new story mode trailer, looks decent

There's a severe lack of tennis games this gen, what happened to the likes of Virtua Tennis, Grand Slam and Top Spin?

It has a mode with none of the special stuff and just the basic moves.

Exactly, this looks ridiculous and nothing like a game of tennis. I feel nintendo have gone ott on the this one.

It looks pretty much like Mario Tennis has always looked, and they have already confirmed you can play a classic mode that is pure tennis without the gimmicks.

I see his point when you get arch the trailer. It's like tennis on wacky shite with loads of crap added.
I remember when people complained about the GameCube game for the power shot things, this seems to have that and more and yet people are all like "oh so sexy".
I'm getting it, but tbh I'm hoping that if we have a day where we can someone place this as a group it'll be classic tennis.

For folk looking for a more "sensible" version of tennis,
AO International Tennis (PS4, XBO) recently launched (although, unfortunately,
it doesn't appear to be great) and
Tennis World Tour (Switch, PS4, XBO, PC) launches next month.
Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to bouncing on a rainbow-coloured court and hitting mushroom-powered shots into Yoshi's backside

This looks great, the problem is that I would need to buy it digitally to make it worthwhile.

Actually looks like they've bothered to make a game with some actual content here and not something that was knocked up in a couple of months (like Ultra Smash)
