I though it was good. 7/10 or thereabouts. First one was better. A lot of the humour fell really flat for me, some of it was too try-hard. Also, there's a little TOO much Baby Groot.

But apart from that I enjoyed it. Michael Rooker probably had the best arc in it. Bloody brilliant actor. Wish he was in more stuff. I felt Chris Pratt was almost a supporting character in this, he didn't have much to do except stand around talking to Kurt Russell while the others were doing the actions scenes and whatnot. Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan, good lord

What is it with every Marvel movie having a cgi younger version of an actor in it nowadays?. It's getting out of hand.

I enjoyed it, it's obviously worse than the first and the plot was transparent. But I enjoy the characters and thought it was a lot of fun.

Saw GoTG2 this afternoon. Really enjoyed it. There seemed more silly humour than the first film which I didn't mind. The plot felt weaker but then the first film was so damn good that it was always going to be a tough act to follow

Sad to see yondu die though, I thought he was going to join the crew for the next film. His friend who was still there at the end seems a bit of an insignificant and throw away character so I doubt he will be in their gang in the next film.

I would like to see them on earth though at some point, surely there's some mileage in Peter struggling with earth not being the same as it was in the 80s.

I could have, then again it's the opening shot of the movie. Literally 10 seconds in. Hardly a spoiler I thought.

Saw it last night and I absolutely loved it, I don't know if I'll still feel the same after further viewings but at this point I think I enjoyed it more than the first guardians movie. Whilst it certainly doesn't feel as fresh, or different as that did at the time I felt like it managed to take everything the first one did well and turn it up another notch. It was just so much fun to watch and I really haven't laughed that much at a film in a really long time. The MCU just goes from strength to strength.

Just got home from watching this, brilliant movie and I loved every second of it. Still prefer the original but this was a top top movie.

I went to see it at the 4DX cinema and it was a unique experience, during the ship scenes it felt like being on a rollercoaster

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but also echo the sentiments that it wasn't quite as good as the first.

I didn't realise Stallone was gonna be in this, and it was nice seeing him and Rooker on screen together again. Absolutely gutted that Yondu was killed off, especially as his scenes have been a particular highlight in these movies. Still, a fitting end to the character.

Loved the Stan Lee cameos with The watchers, was not expecting that at all.

Already made plans to see it again next week.

Loved it. Laughed the laughs and felt the feels. Felt a bit like Hitchhiker's Guide in certain places, which is a good thing, but can sometimes be a bit too quirky. Sometimes the "evil" characters lose a bit of their menace due to it. I'm thinking Nebula finally eating the unripe fruit, and the whole red carpet thing with the Sovereign. They were cheap gags that adversely affected those characters for me - only slightly, but it was for a very small comic payoff so I think they could have been dropped. The second one in particular jarred with the mega-serious discussion just before.

I think my wife would leave me for Baby Groot.

Credits:
Did anyone else see Jeff Goldblum pop up in the pictures during the credits? Please don't spoil any of Ragnarok for me by telling me who he is, I have no idea and want to find out in October. I'm just wondering if anyone else clocked him.

And OH MY GOD WATCHERS

I dont care what anyone says, the Guardians films are just a whole league above all the other Marvel films, I absolutely adore them.

Strangely I'm not arsed about seeing Guardians 2 at all :? First Marvel film since Ant Man I've felt that way about.

Just got back from watching Guardians v2.

I don't think I was really the biggest fan. For one, the writing seemed a lot worse in this - Like Hexx says, everyone's a bit too wacky. There's too much of a focus on the Ravagers - especially when Yondu wasn't really one of the finer points of the first film, I don't really care for the will they/won't they of Star-Lord and Gamora, and do we really need another Marvel film of bickering between people who are meant to be a team? :dread: Give it a rest, guys. I thought the finale was kind of dull and a bit too ridiculous. Like one of those Dragonball Z episodes.

I think the best joke was the Zune cameo at the end  Wonder what that'll do for the value of them.

Doesn't fill me with confidence for Guardians 3, or the next Avengers, really...

I disagree. Yondu was a great character and his arc was perhaps the most interesting as it ties to a few other characters. Plus he's badass!

Yondu was one of the best parts of the first and this :fp:

Loved this for the record. James Gunn has captured that magic that made a film like Big Trouble in Little China such a timeless classic. A film that adults can enjoy just as much as a kid. Love that everybody has their time to shine on screen, felt Kurt Russel really stepped into the role to. Was a little concerned he would phone it in but the man is just Mr Charisma.

GOTG is leagues above any Marvel film, it has heart, it has purpose, 1 and 2 are going to be timeless classics.

Absolutely loved this. Thought it was even better than the first. You could tell how much confidence they gained from the first one being so good.

I agree with the second part. Certainly more entertaining.

Did anyone notice if...

during the 700 jump sequence, we see a shot of the Hulk fighting?

I thought so but couldn't be sure.
