The initial contract is/was for a joint partnership. It may have already been extended since Civil War and this solo movies reaction.

Marvel make the movie and in return get to use the Spider-Man character (presumably X amount of times - so far Civil War and the next one/two Avengers movies). Not sure if they get to use villains/secondary characters etc in their own productions.

Sony fund the production of the Spider-Man movies and receive the profits.

The partnership length is for 2 Spider-Man solo movies and 2 (3 if he is in both Avengers movies?) MCU movies. At this point the contract is complete and Sony can either extend the deal (probably with different criteria - although Sony are running out of cards as they don't have merchandising rights to the characters and they recently gave away the TV rights), or they can go it alone again - I'm not sure they can continue using Tom Holland though - probably not.

Because Sony are funding the movies if they don't turn a profit, or not as profitable as they hope then you could see them going alone again in a few years time.

So potentially if Sony and marvel don't agree to an extension then we could see a spiderman TV show with Tom Holland in it, depending on how the actors contract works.

I think the Movie rights stipulate no live action projects, so that extends to tv shows and shorts etc.

I think Marvel have an animated Spider-Man tv show now. It's the reason Marvel haven't produced an X-Men show despite having the tv rights (I think)

SDCC Poster for Avengers  probably the first of many that join up in a row like they're done for the previous Avengers movies (back then it was just one or two characters on each poster...).

Looks like it might be made from the colours of each Infinity Stone? Green to Blue then to...

Fox are working on a Doctor Doom project :fp: strawberry float sake. Hopefully they get this out of the way quickly and it bombs.

Fox has been eyeing ways to revive the Fantastic Four franchise for the big screen, and Legion creator Noah Hawley made one of those ways public Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con.

At the end of his panel for FX's Legion, Hawley teased that he is developing a movie for Fox that fans may be interested in.

"Two words," he said. "Doctor. Doom."

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Hawley is developing a feature project centering around one of Marvel Comics' most recognizable villains with an eye to direct.

The character is the chief antagonist of Marvel's Fantastic Four, the superteam created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to which Fox has the movie rights.

The Fantastic Four has had a somewhat troubled big-screen history. Tim Story directed the 2005 film Fantastic Four and the 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. While they were commercially successful, they were not quite embraced by fans. A 2015 reboot directed by Josh Trank was a critical and commercial bomb so damaging that it led to Trank being fired from a Star Wars spinoff.

Fox has been looking to reboot and reimagine the franchise after the lackluster performance of the 2015 outing, and another Fantastic Four movie would just not do, so the studio is looking at various angles. There are rumors that Seth Grahame-Smith is working on a Fantastic Four spinoff featuring Franklin Richards, the son of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Girl.

Looks ever so slightly better this time. Better edited trailer and song choice.

@Inhumans. Oh god that hair.

And they're going with racial supiority based on "You're only human" about Maximus. Jesus the Inhumans are just awful.

I'm thinking they're still working on the CGI. Probably 100% of the efforts were on the dog up until now. The last trailer didn't even have animated hair and even in that trailer the CGI looks worse than even the Netflix shows. Hopefully they can get it up to par with SHIELD episodes and the movies, and hopefully the effects quality doesn't dip after the movie premiere in to the remaining episodes.

Noah Hawley is INCREDIBLE, though. So even though this sounds like a gooseberry fool idea, don't count it out.

I've heard good things about Legion but this project resets the F4 rights and means it's another 8+ years wait before they could come back to Marvel

Who cares? As long as it's good, Legion has been one of the best superhero takes including the Marvel films.

Fox have been doing well lately with Legion, Deadpool and of course Logan. All for it.

But they've been doing absolute shite with the Fantastic Four side of things.

It's early days, granted but those 3 examples show they can make decent productions. Logan isn't just a good superhero movie, it's a great movie in its own right.

I think Fox are finding the right people now, what has and hasn't worked in th past and now in the hands of Hawley theres are very optimistic outlook about this project.

Black Panther

- Set just after Captain America: Civil War
- Footage description:
There's a scene which opens in a club. A lawyer enters and T’Challa is tracking him with Lupita and Danai. Everett tries to stop Klaw from coming in with so many people. Law then asks if Everett brought the Diamonds. He hands a briefcase over and Klaw trades it for Virbranium. Gupta wants to move in on them but Danai ties to be patient. She fights a man and flips him over some railing. Law starts shooting and a fight breaks out. Dana and T’Challa kick major butt. T'Challa beats a ton of men and jumps up to the higher level to catch Klaw. The villain pulls out a huge weapon and fires.

Black panther then jumps on top of a car. A ship flies over Wakanda and the Queen tells C’Challa it’s his time. A water fight is happening. T'Challa tells his right hand man he wants to be the right kind of king. Kendrick Lamar plays as T’Chala falls out of a ship and onto robbers in the jungle. There is a major car chase. Kilmonger comes out of an ambulance and Klaw fires his big fun again. Dana rides on the top of a car and throws a spear.

In the throne room, Killmonger and T’Challa go head to head. Black panther’s suit turns gold in parts.

Avengers: Infinity War

- Footage description:
'We are arriving,' Mantis said to the Guardians. Teenage Groot in a seat. They describe this place as 'dangerous.' The body of Thor lands on their windshield. His hair is short. Rocket is startled. Mantis wakes him up using her powers. Thor is startled. All of the Guardians look at him, prompting him to ask who they are. The ship zips through the cosmos. Elsewhere, Wanda dodges some white energy, and it breaks a truck. Somewhere else, Loki stands in ruin, presenting the Tesseract to someone. Peter's Spider-Sense takes off as he rides a bus. Tony prepares for battle. He is in space with the Guardians.

'Fun really isn't something one considers when balancing the universe,' Thanos said. 'This does put a smile on my face.' Gamora looks on, terrified. The Guardians observe ruin in many places across Earth and the cosmos. Thanos warps into this new world. Star-Lord battles him. Strange battles him. Spider-man, in his new suit, battles him. Winter Soldier battles on Earth. Wakanda readies to defend their territory. Cap steps out of the shadows, bearded, with longer hair. Hulkbuster fights.

Peter looks up at Tony, laying down with his mask off, fighting tears with Tony's hand behind his head, and says, 'I'm sorry, Tony.'

Black Panther fights an Outrider, appearing as it did Infinity. Thor's head is squeezed by Thanos. Thanos pummels Iron Man in a fight. The Guardians are all defeated. Thanos has assembled the Infinity Gauntlet. He throws a moon at an entire planet.

Thor Ragnorak is on another level. At the very least it'll look to be the best visual Marvel film.

That's Hela in the Ragnorok trailer, she's the Asgardian goddess of Death. Thanos idolises Death but she's a completely separate character in the comics.

Wonder how they'll explain Captain Marvel being nowhere to be seen in the MU since her film then (not that I'm complaining)
