It matches his status in the comic universe atm. Age of Ultron is the biggest role he's had in an event since...Civil War? And even then he did strawberry float all in that bar get replaced by Hulkling.

Secret Invasion and then going on to lead Mighty Avengers, probably.

Mighty Avengers post-Secret Invasion wasn't the most popular/biggest of Avengers titles at the time was it?

It's a shame Waid won't be writing him permanently after that Age of Ultron #10 AI issue. He had more backstory and character in that than the entirety of Bendis' run.

Waid really likes Pym. There was an issue of Daredevil a couple of weeks back where he had Daredevil's internal monologue complain about how nobody respects Pym enough.

IS TONY STARK ULTRON'S CREATOR IN "AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON?"

"When you see and talk to other people about the footage that we did, what they'll tell you is that it was an Iron Man helmet that was slowly, meticulously being bashed and ripped and sparked and torn apart into an Ultron face."

Change for change sake.

It's just going to be boring "oh Jarvis turned evil" isn't it?

It's change so there's one less character to introduce. Plus it gives Stark a reason to get back in the suit if he creates an alterantive to Iron Man that ends up running rampant. I hope it's not Jarvis turning evil though :dread:

Maybe it's not actually an Iron Man armour gone rogue, just a program using an Iron Man armour as its first body.
:shifty:

Wishful thinking I know but....

No issue with Pym not being in Avengers 2 here, at all. I am far from a fan.

Anung knows. Hank Pym not inventing Ultron is like Tony Stark not being an alcoholic.

Wait.

Joss Whedon Talks Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron

superherohype.com wrote:Unlike the first film, writer/director Joss Whedon is dropping all kinds of bits of info regarding the upcoming Avengers sequel "Age of Ultron." He's spoken about the addition of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye's role in the film, the lack of Agent Coulson, and now how Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow will factor into the movie.

Speaking at a Nerd HQ Q&A (via MTV), Whedon had this to say:

"Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don't have their own franchises. Although she is in 'Cap 2,' [and] she's great. She was the most fun for me because she's not a hero, you know, and it's something that I read—and I feel bad that I can't remember who wrote the book—but it's in one of the books explaining, 'These guys are heroes, you are a spy. It's a different thing—it's a different skill set—and you don't have their moral high ground or any of that good stuff.' And that just makes her so interesting to me. So yeah, the stuff I've got going on with her in the second one is killer."

Johansson can be seen as Black Widow again in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is set for release April 4, 2014.

Featuring favorites from the first "Avengers" film and new Marvel characters never before seen on the big screen, Avengers: Age of Ultron will open in theaters on May 1, 2015.
