I don't like all of the black in it.
Yes, yes, 'racist!' and all that.

Speaking of racists, I see the geek racists are flipping out at a black actress being cast as Mary Jane in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Has that been confirmed yet? It seemed to be all over Twitter the other day but then Marvel moved to deny it, which I suppose they'd do anyway until they're ready to officially announce it.

My complaint with her is that she didn't have red hair. MJ is such a boring character her hair colour is her only defining characteristic. I then saw this picture though:
She has my full support.

Was just on getting clued up about that new Thor movie - I'm shocked that it's the same director as What We Do In The Shadows, what an utterly bizarre move. They're saying it's going to be like a road movie, but across the galaxy. I imagine it'll be full of 'hilarious' banter between Thor and Banner, yay
Still, Jeff Goldblum's in it so it could be amazing by sheer default.

It's rumoured that she will be "MJ" but not actually called Mary Jane.

What We Do In The Shadows is brilliant, and I'm quite excited by Taika Waititi at the helm because he's very well regarded in NZ.

She doesn't look black?
I would have guessed Latin/Mexican.
Actually looks like Kylie Jenner who I think is just white?

Her hair colour in that picture is photoshopped and her skin looks lighter because of the lighting. She's actually mixed-race (half white, half African-American)

Mary Jane looks mixed race in that comic pic anyway, I have no issue with the choice of actress.

I've just seen a potential Thor spoiler which would have been cool to see for the first time when I watched the movie
I think it might be the film I'm most excited about.

Never has there been a more succinct distillation of why Marvel is successful and DC not when it comes to cinematic universes.

Saw that this morning - it's got Taika Waititi/Flight of the Conchords written all over it. Thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Presumably they'll go down the Ultimate Shocker route and have him receive numerous ass whippings. But if a waste of Bokeem Woodbine, but it'll be fun to watch at least.
