Jizzed myself a couple of times watching that. I can't lie though, I'm a Spider-nerd. Always have been, always will be.

Nah, I'm out*.

* Will probably pirate it.

Most of the Avengers have already left New York. Captain America's team in Civil War is in hiding, Thor's in Asgard, Hulk's in exile, Black Panther is in Wakanda, War Machine is learning to walk again, Black Widow is probably with Cap as she switched to him in the end.

That leaves Iron Man, Vision, Dr Strange and Spider-Man in New York. Dr Strange has his focus on mystical threats so he's not going to stop Vulture doing anything.

So, 'on holiday or something'? ;)

strawberry floating Avengers, picking a choosing which threats to human existence they respond to...

The Vulture isn't a threat to human existence, he's a thief. And an OAP usually, at that. They've actually picked very well - a character who hasn't been seen in a big budget Spider-Man film, but who also isn't high powered enough to require the Avengers to deal with - a Spider-Man level threat. Personally I'd have liked Mysterio(they could've really strawberry floated with the audience, cameo'd other Avengers characters as illusions, all sorts of gooseberry fool) but I'm a fan of the Vulture, and Michael Keaton's class.

As Mori says, almost all of the Avengers are indisposed following the events of Civil War; only Iron-Man realistically can show face in New York. We don't know what Dr. Strange is doing and Vision may or may not be taking the blame for paralysing War Machine. It looks like Iron Man does suit up as well, so again it looks well placed.

A superhero film with no central threat would be an interesting one, but not a risk that's worth taking for Sony/Marvel. They've done well to sidestep Spider-Man's origin this time out, so I'm quite excited to see what they do with Homecoming.

They're not allowed to help unless the UN sanction it. Vigilantes are arrested.

Vulture (as Cora says) is a common criminal. A Police/SHIELD response.

Looks good (as someone who doesn't like Spider-Man much) I just wish it was Cap featuring and not Iron Man :(

I would love for a live action 'Maximum Carnage' movie to be made. Nice and dark and gruesome!

It certainly seems to me that they're lining up for the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline, or at the least heavily taking from it. Ganke being in this, as well as Stark taking an interest in Peter more or less confirms it.

I always liked the Ultimate Venom origin, though with the MCU there's no need to remove the space aspect

It'll be interesting to see how much of the Ultimate timeline they use. I can see it being a mix of both. Though I prefer the original origin for Venom to Ultimate, either would work within the MCU as it is.

My real interest is in how they're eventually going to work Osborn into this. It's a crime but they've never manged to get Osborn/Goblin right. Can perhaps see him being teased in this one, with a reveal in the next, leading to a proper showdown in a third one.

Spider-Man 2 has a date of July 5th 2019. So it'll be the first Phase 4 movie I guess. Bad Boys 4 has moved back as a result.

Captain Marvel is March 2019 and Infinity War Part 2 May 2019.

Yup, back to back. It's Sony Pictures who are bankrupt and have no IP, so :fp:

I mean at least it's not scrapping the very depths of the barrel, at least they're not making a 21 Jump Street vs Men In Black crossover :slol:

Wait, I thought the 23 Jump Street / Men in Black crossover was a joke article?

It's really happening? :slol:

It's literally the end credits to 22 Jump Street showing increasingly more absurd future Jump Street films:

Yup basically :fp: if they were going to cross anything over then probably Men in Black with Ghostbusters would have worked better.

I actually thinthe MIB/Jump Streer crossover is a really good idea.

Yeah MIB franchise is otherwise done and they need somewhere new to take jump street.

It'll basically just be jump street with aliens anyway.
