A bloke, two green people, a gun-totting racoon and a tree defend the galaxy.

I still don't know how they got so much of the special effects done to make a trailer. They were only about half way through shooting just a few weeks ago!

Looks great though. I know nothing about this particular IP so look forward to seeing it for the first time :D

Guardians of the Galaxy Set Photos

I'll put them in a spoiler box because of the location they're being filmed in

It's taking place on the Millennium Bridge in London which goes across the Thames between St Paul's and the Tate Modern. I knew that they were filming this movie in London, but I thought it was all being filmed on stages and not in the actual streets too. Does this film link up with Thor 2 somehow? (where I've seen London in the trailers) I thought this film was a totally separate thing from the other Phase 2 films and was setup for Phase 3?

It's rumoured to have a slight connection to Thor 2 due to the cosmic stuff, but nothing major. I'd imagine they are just using the bridge as a location because of its design.

You mean the actors right? ;)

I once bumped into Professor X walking down the street.

Didn't realise it was him until we nearly walked into each other, and then did the "both go left, then both go right" thing trying to get past.

The we went opposite ways and he walked off.

That's my one anecdote for parties.

Looks Like Vin Diesel will be voicing Groot http://herocomplex.latimes.com/movies/g ... t-role/#/0

Called it as soon as his meeting with Marvel was leaked. His voice is perfect for that role.

James Gunn the GotG director wrote:“@MightyMarvel: When can we expect a trailer for #GotG?” Right now I’m mostly concerned with making a kickass movie-so not for a while sorry

:( :(

Could be classic misdirection though :shifty:

Me thinks they're waiting till they get the voice for Rocket, so him (and Groot) speaking can be the big thing for the first trailer.

Doubt we'll get a trailer until Cap 2 next year. Thor trailer came with Iron Man 3, Cap 2 trailer will probably arrive with Thor. Makes sense

I have a feeling that the Thor credit sequence might involve Guardians of the Galaxy so maybe a teaser trailer of some sort

Joss Whedon Teases Ultron Character Details
Although we've still got three major Marvel Studios releases between now and then, it's hard to not already start getting excited for the end of "Phase Two" when The Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015. Ever since the title was revealed at Comic-Con, fan speculation has run rampant as to what qualities writer/director Joss Whedon might be borrowing from Ultron's 45-year history. Today, EW has an update from the man himself.

"As a character I love [Ultron] because he’s so pissed off,” Whedon says. "...I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it. He’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because, at some point, everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone who’s a witch.”

Whedon's comments also seem to confirm that the Scarlet Witch will indeed be magical in nature, something that Whedon has more than his fair share of experience writing about.

Although Robert Downey Jr. is, at the moment, the only confirmed cast member for the ensemble sequel, expect quite a few new and familiar names to be joining the list as the project gears up for production beginning in February 2014.

Vin Diesel Confirms Plans to Do Groot's Motion Capture Work
superherohype.com wrote:Following a series of online teases, Vin Diesel finally revealed earlier this month that he's planning on playing Groot in director James Gunn's now-filming Guardians of the Galaxy (although he does admit that the deal is not yet fully complete). At today's junket for Diesel's latest, Riddick, ShockTillYouDrop.com's Ryan Turek asked the actor about the role and whether or not his portrayal of Groot would be limited to voicework.

"It'll be voiceover, MoCap and all of that stuff," Diesel says. "It's going to be super cool."

That means an awfully busy schedule for Diesel, who begins production next week on James Wan's Fast & Furious 7. In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he explains that his upcoming slate is actually what brought the Groot role his way.

"What we were initially talking about was a fresh IP," says Diesel, "and that was the focus of our conversation. A fresh IP that would come out in 2016 or 2017 to potentially launch a third phase. When we went to Comic-Con, we realized that we wanted something more immediate."

So what intellectual property was Diesel speaking with Marvel about? Ant-Man is already set to launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Phase Three," but it's also supposed to hit theaters at the tail end of 2015, earlier than whatever project Diesel is referencing. There's also the question of whether or not discussions for that film are still on the table. Could he potentially play that role in addition to Groot? Only time will tell

James Spader Will Play Ultron In Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron

So it's more than Jarvis turning evil? Or is Paul Bettany getting the boot?
