Nah he absolutely nailed the role, his casting was up there with David Tennant as the Purple Man. Can't wait to see more stuff like the bar fight scene. :datass: Presumably Danny Rand will be introduced in it too.

Just watched the trailer, excited levels increasing. My main concern is the title, I hope naming it Captain America doesn't mean too much (I.e. His side is portrayed as "right" or it is his film and therefore he wins).

Yeah but Cap *is* right because it's his film

...and that is what puts me off. Should be "Iron Man - Civil War" or just "Civil War".

They're both right, it doesn't have to be clear cut

Apart from Spidey I'm most looking forward to seeing Black Panther. I know next to nothing about the character but he looks rad.

Loving the new trailer. Very excited for this film. Looks great. I hope the lukewarm reception that age of ultron got doesn't dampen the mass market appeal of the film.

To me it looks like spidey will be a bit of the film which is better than the speculation that he will just show up at the end or in the credits.

Imagine Batman but:

not a pussy who is too scared to kill his enemies
has actual superpowers (super strength stamina etc. on par, possibly better, than Cap)
ruler of the richest and most advanced country in the world (Wakanda is build on a meteorite made of Vibranium which is what Cap's shield and Panther's suit is made of)
one of the top 5 smartest people in the world
will do whatever it takes to protect his country

The actual comparison made by Marvel is that he's like a heroic Dr Doom.

Any particular Black Panther arcs/TPBs worth looking at?

I've been working through this massive list of Marvel comics for the last 8-9 months now and it starts off with a great Black Panther run that I'd say is well worth checking out.

It's the Christopher Priest run from 1999 to 2003, issues 1-49 and it should be on Marvel Unlimited.

There may be better runs, but it's the only one I've read and I enjoyed it.

Christopher Priest's run. The first two trade paperbacks are out now 1 & 2
The Secret Invasion tie-in which is where the panel posted above is from (Skulls try to invade Wakanda)
Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four #607 & #608
Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers (he's one of the main characters)

The new solo series starts next month and you can see some of it here

I'd recommend starting with those two Fantastic Four issues as they're a nice intro to the character and his relationship with Reed Richards and the FF, and then the Secret Invasion tie-in since it's only three issues.

Moot point really, but are they going to explain why Spidey's mask has moving eyes?

It looks like some kind of tech of Parker or Stark's design.

They look like camera lens shutter things. The Russos tweeted this a while ago

Peter Parker is clever enough to develop tech like that especially as he's into photography. I wonder if we'll see 2 spidey suits in the movie (An Iron-Spider type from Stark as well) or just stick with the classic.

I wonder what direction they will take the new Spidey movies in as well.

Given that's Spidey during the big airport fight scene I'd say that's the suit Stark gives him

I'd think so, yeah.

I imagine we'll see an early version of the suit, with those goggle-style eyes before he gets an upgrade from Stark. I doubt we'll see the Iron Spider suit (though it would be amazing if we did).
