I'm waiting a week and a half in the vain hope Agents of Shield has a good tie in with it :slol:

Really it's going to be awful and I'm going to accidentally read an untold amount of spoilers on the internet :fp:

I'm looking at going either Sunday evening or Monday morning. The big cinema in town is only showing 3D but luckily the nearby Vue has 2D. Prices have gone up again though. Bastards.

It'd be pretty dumb if they didn't.

Empire reporting that Nathan Fillion has been cast in Guardians Vol. 2 as Simon Williams. Unlikely that he'll power up into Wonder Man, but still a nice easter egg.

Saturday afternoon for me.

Some quick thoughts on Thor: The Dark World.

• The plot of this is way too convoluted. There seems to be three movies trying to compete with each other at the same time.
• Can someone explain to me what happens at the end? As I saw it, Thor zaps Malekith back to Svartelheim. The aether just disappears for no reason. The ship gets zapped back to Svartelheim (presumably crushing Malekith). Then the Asgardians seem to have no problem bottling the aether and handing it over to the collector.
• On the positive side, at least Malekith's motivation was relatively easy to understand, to bring eternal night back to the nine realms. But what a waste of a great actor in Christopher Eccleston. He would have made an amazing Mad Jim Jaspers.
• It would have been good to have some Marvel UK easter eggs given the film was set in London.

If you think the UK sites are confusing, times wise then check out the Japanese one I used:

Is this the first time you've seen something like that here?

Just be thankful the film is out so soon. Deadpool isn't out until August or something stupid like that.

Not sure I like Spiderman's voice, but his line was something I'd expect from my days of reading the comic.

Yes?

Nah, I have seen it on shop opening times and stuff, I just think it causes more ambiguity than it solves tbh

Deadpool got bumped to June! :datass: Even though literally every other country in the world got it in February

3D can go strawberry float itself. Over here they generally bundle 3D with IMAX, so it's impossible to see an IMAX movie in 2D.

Standard cinema 3D and IMAX 3D aren't quite the same thing though.

I'm going to watch it in 4DX, don't really understand the people that hate 3D.

If it has 3 and D in it I don't want to know.

So the live premiere is on fb (marvel official page), but they have this bloody banana split doing the interviews. Can't even think of his name, but so annoying.

As do I, don't have any problems wearing 3D glasses of any type over the top of them, if you have a particularly awkward pair of glasses then it is possible to get the standard 3D glasses designed specifically to go over the top of glasses (it generally isn't a problem with the IMAX style 3D glasses).

3D is worse in price, sharpness of the picture and brightness of the picture. It is an inferior alternative to 2D and it's a huge con since strawberry floating nothing is actually filmed using a 3D camera but instead is filmed in 2D and goes through post production tech software to turn 2D to 3D, which can't match doing it properly and using a 3D camera in the first place.

It's annoying if you don't wear glasses too as you're not using to having them on so it's very distracting.

I used to hate 3D, then I got a 3D projector. It's not as bad as it used to be.

I really like the other two Captain America films in 3D. It almost feels like the depth helps make the action a bit easier to... follow(?) (the helicarrier bit at the end of Winter Soldier especially)

Also isn't the brightness of the image usually skewed so when viewed through the tinted lenses it looks right?

(And yeah glasses wearers unite 8-) I'm fine with 3D glasses, can't fit my head in any of these VR headsets. Which would be a shame if I cared about it)
