I've been reading up a bit on Captain Marvel today and I have to say I'm really quite excited for that - I'm surprised that the cosmic side of the MCU is the part I enjoy the most.

Also hype as strawberry float for Avengers on Wednesday night too. Will be trying to watch through a few choice films beforehand to get ready for it.

Kevin Feige ‘Hoovering Up’ Deadpool, Fantastic Four and X-Men for Marvel’s Phase 4? Dark Phoenix, the Last Fox X-Men Movie?

Some of the best stories come from having a source in the right place at the right time with no real reason to be there. Such as Brent Andrew who found himself at attending a college speaking engagement with some high-level Fox production crew members, and.. they said things to a small crowd of 50 students that maybe they might not have done in other circumstances. And posting what he had discovered on his site Comic Genre.

This includes the information that X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be the last proper Fox Marvel movie, presumably the last in that specific continuity. And that the regular X-Men crew will be off the projects as everything will move to Disney for future chapters.

Confirming that the X-Men being integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a done deal, and merely awaiting the approval of the merger.

And that Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige is “hoovering up” all of the Fox-Marvel characters, and is already planning for them all to go into Phase 4. This includes the X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four.

Not surprising really. I think they’re pretty late in announcing the next phase when compared to previous phases, with only Spider-Man (which is likely because of the rights deal) and GOTG3 confirmed. Makes sense that they’re waiting on the rights situation. Introducing X-Men will be huge.

If you're seeing the movie at an Odeon then you can pick up one of these posters each time you visit (depending on the date)

I actually like them. Wouldn’t mind framing them.

Yeh they're pretty good. I think Matt Ferguson is the guy who does the artwork for the Phase boxset packaging

Free ticket booked to a 2D Superscreen showing this Thursday during the day (so hopefully no annoying kids). :datass:

Yeh it's weird they don't start giving the posters out till May, I guess to try and get more nerds to see the movie 5 times after they see it in the first week :(

It would probably be worth trying to get one of those first two posters any way, you'll might end up with a decent person working there who will let you take one, or maybe both of the first two posters.

Yeah sorry gang I was totally wrong - it’s 2 posters on weekend 1 (26th-29th), 2 on weekend 2 (5th & 6th), and Thanos poster on weekend 3.
I’m going the 2nd Thursday, so hopefully I can get week 1 leftovers and a sneaky week 2 one too.

Poster envy. A full set would be worth a bit on eBay :datass:

tbf they probably need to give people some incentive to visit an Odeon instead of any other cinemas. My two easiest-to-get-to ones (Merry Hill and Birmingham New Street) are dreadful.

My local Odeon has recliner leather seats and a coffee shop. It’s all rather glorious actually. On Mondays they do cheap tickets, so will certainly keep going back for posters if I can. Might see if I can get the two different ones on opening night, then the other two when I take the GF, then the last one if I go a third time. :shifty:

The Merry Hill branch has leather recliners (but only in certain auditoriums and they're an extra charge. The difference in quality between the two is absolutely insane, though), but Odeon in general now has a horrible multi-tier price-gouging structure that seems to be plucked from thin air.

Standard tickets are like £7 or £8, which then has another £2 on top if you want to upgrade to the premium seats (and the extra charges for 3D showings) and then "blockbuster" (by their definition) films have an additional fee on top of that ranging from 50p to ~£3, which is higher the closer you see a film to release, and presumably based on how much they think they can exploit the fans of a particular film. Shocking practise.

EDIT: Just checked, and a "standard" seat for Infinity War on Friday at 13:45 is almost the same price as I'm paying to see it in IMAX 3D in Birmingham.

Hi - there is a Venom movie coming out, or so I hear.

Is this a Sony solo project or is it Marvel/Disney sorted?

Sony doing their own thing

IIRC Sony are pretending it's MCU adjacent - Marvel are sort of letting them pretend.

Sony solo, but if it goes well I'd expect them to work Venom into the MCU.

First Infinity Wars impressions are on Twitter now. People loved it!

Wish my image sig would work

I'm gonna have to avoid Facebook and Twitter for the next 56 and a half hours aren't I?

Are we going to have a separate "Spoiler" thread for people who've seen it?
