Yeah that's not a great look
It's weird reading that because from everything I have heard from the actors, this show tackles the stereotypes. Maybe the person watching it just had the joke fly over their head. We will find out next week I guess. Have you seen the previews?

All the other marvel Netflix stuff has been great, can't see why this will suddenly turn to gooseberry fool.

The showrunner (who's also doing Inhumans) was the showrunner for the last three seasons of Dexter.
