No, it’s not just a movie, it’s a significant cultural milestone. It’s naive to suggest otherwise, especially in the world’s current climate.

Im not even going to link to it because i dont want to give him coverage, but that douchebag Ben Shapiro was straight up saying "Wasnt Blade enough? Wasnt Catwoman enough?". (because Catwoman was such a great movie, obvs). Seriously the amount of sad white dudes getting salty over an all Black marvel movie is strawberry floating hilarious to me.

A few kids staring into the camera in a hut, run out with big smiles calling 'white wolf, white wolf'. Bucky emerges from the hut to meet Shuri who says he still has much to learn.

Ah, thanks. That sounds cool. Wish I could've seen it.

Depends on the child, I think. There's quite a bit of violence and death, some things they might find upsetting or frightening, also quite a bit of swearing for a Marvel film. There's nothing too terrible though. I'd say maybe not for a sensitive 8 year old, but it’s probably fine for most.

Specific and extremely spoilery stuff below:
At one point the villain tells a security guard he can go, then shoots him in the back as he runs away. At another point it appears that T'challa has been killed and everyone is upset. Briefly, a young boy holds the body of his dead father. Sympathetic villain dies at the end (though the nuance of the villain may be lost on a child and they may just see him as a 'bad guy'). Several instances of 'gooseberry fool' and one of a character flipping another off. I think that was the worst of it.

Fallen a bit behind in my MCU watching, still haven't seen Doctor Strange or Thor: Ragnarok This Party, so I doubt I'll get round to seeing this any time soon, but all the reviews seem quite positive.

Also get some work done.

I really liked it - somewhere in my top 5 for sure. Some interesting characters, a great villain, good action, and I found the cultural side of the film really interesting.

I enjoyed it but am struggling to remember the action scenes having stand out moments. Presumably his strength is comparable to Captain America but Winter Soldier fight scenes were filmed better.

Liked Klaue and Killmonger. Both were great villains. Social commentary on "splendid isolationism "vs intervention. Vegetarian joke was good too.

I prefer it as an Origin movie to the incredibly boring Thor. And better than Captain America 1.

I haven't seen it yet, but I was really impressed with Captain America 1. Although I think i quite like both of Thor movies I've seen so far.

films are near enough the largest and most influential cultural-artistic force in the modern world, and the MCU is arguably the planet's biggest film franchise right now (at least, up there with the likes of Star Wars) so to imply that an MCU film with an almost entirely black main cast (and a black director), set in Africa, celebrating black african culture, and that is a genuinely good film, to imply that it's not a big deal just isnt true, cause it really kinda is a Big Deal for a group of ppl in the world who just dont normally get this kind of representation in blockbuster cinema

This was my biggest gripe, it didn’t feel like an action blockbuster. The action scenes were very badly made compared to winter soldier and civil war. The opening fight is so dark you can barely see what is happening and the fast cuts reminded me of a transformers film.

The characters were good though, but ultimately I felt very let down and have to rate it at the bottom of the scale in MCU. Around the Thor, Hulk and Ironman 2 end of the scale.

Seems I’m the only one who thinks that though. Will be interesting to see people’s views after it’s initial release hype has died down.

enjoyed it right until the big dumb fight at the end. but thats needed in all marvel films i guess.

it felt fresh to me and it was cool just to see a bunch of new stuff. everyone is so cool as well. i felt when we went down the
him getting dethroned route
i felt it get a bit less interesting, despite liking everyone

and once again im gonna say it: he's a better designed power ranger than the power rangers in the actual movie last year

also martin freeman shouldnt of been in it. im sure they could of found a dramatically better fish out of water character

(oh nice i post this and get editing permissions)

I wouldn't rush, Ragnorok is overrated.
