Is it strange that I prefer his shitty poloneck and bandana costume? Made it seem more believable looking within the setting than actually having a proper costumed superhero running around.

Finished Jessica Jones last night so am quite looking forward to this. Actually, I think JJ was the superior show out of the first season of both to be honest, although that might be down to personal taste. It was darker and more psychological in terms of the plot and struggle between protagonist and antagonist. That, and also the fact that Kilgrave was one of the most terrifying super vilians I have ever seen whose power is to pretty much compeletly strip anyone he interacts with of any agency. That Tennant could actually make such a character even moderately synpathetic whilst still being a full on evil seriel rapist and murderer was some pretty impressive acting. I doubt the second season will be as good without him.

I preferred that one too, and they've actually gone back to using that one in the comics when the series was relaunched last month.

Not at all. His costume looks awful, especially the cowel.

Yeah, I definitely preferred the basic costume. The "proper" one just looks dodgy.

Why did they even bother keeping the character blind?

It's just dumb, I feel like they would have been better off just ditching the lack of sight aspect.

What? That's whats unique to the character and you know, blind people exist too.

Yea but he's not blind in any meaningful way.

Edit: just watched the bit where he meets Gao (or whatever it is) and her henchmen fires into the floor for about 5 seconds

wtf?

He literally cannot see with his eyes which means he:

can't read printed text without touching it
can't read text on an electronic screen at all
can't distinguish colours
can't distinguish faces without touching them
etc.

The distance he can see with his echolocation "vision" is quite limited, and it's basically useless in extremely noisy environments.

He "sees" in sonar it's not actually sight. Superior Iron Man #3 where he loses his sight again after regaining it briefly demonstrates the difference:

He'd never seen his best friend's face.

There are some practical restrictions in how he uses his powers when you consider the viewing audience though. For example, obviously the best thing to do for Daredevil when fighting a bunch of thugs is to simply take out the nearest source of illumination; which would render them pretty vulnerable to him, however just showing an almost black screen whilst listening to guys betten the snot beat out of them is not very good viewing.

Happy to hear Season 2 is so soon. Hope they can keep up this pace and quality and that Luke Cage isn't too far behind. I'd imagine it'll be ready by summer but I could see them holding it till the end of the year as I don't believe they'll have any other Marvel stuff ready to fill that slot.

Tony is a bit of a banana split in that comic (well more than usual anyway), I guess they made him more likeable for the MCU.

Superiority complex non withstanding.

His personality had been inverted by Dr Doom prior to that issue.
