I haven't got round to the new season of this yet - I kind of want to finish JJ S2 first but that's proving a bit of a slog at the moment.

Despite being the highest rated of all the Marvel Netflix shows, many here and other nerdy places didn't appreciate how the second half of Season 1's tone/storyline changed compared to the first half but it worked for me.

Whilst I would agree that the first half was "better" I don't think the change in the second half was that bad - certainly not enough to make me actively dislike the show over all!

Either way I'm up for season 2 of this, probably going to put JJ on hold and give this a go tonight.

Yeh for me it was definitely better than JJ2, but I guess it ultimately depends on what kind of storylines you're in to as to which is best. There's enough Marvel these days to skip things you're not interested in and watch other parts instead.

That's a good point actually. It probably does make more sense these days to just dip in to what you like and skip the rest - I need to lose the completionist attitude!

Inhumans (and those MCU prelude comics) are the only thing I've skipped so far. The rest for me has been enjoyable enough to watch it. Cloak and Dagger is next for me! Apparently that's been getting a lot of praise.

Finished it up recently, I'd definitely put it as the best of the Netflix series. Luke is a far more interesting character this time around, particularly towards the end of the series. Bushmaster is really, really good. Mariah puts in an incredible performance and Shades is great too. Reg E. Cathey was also strawberry floating brilliant. My only downsides, Bobby Fish disappearing half way through the series and I didn't think the music was as good as S1. Don't get me wrong, it's a great soundtrack but it's not quite as good. That Rakim track at the end of though :datass: Don't watch unless you've seen the whole series though as it's probably got some spoilers in it.

I enjoyed the first season, but there was a big drop in quality halfway through.

S2 is great pretty much all the way through though, Cage is interesting and Bushmaster/Mariah were great bad guys.

The ending was interesting as well, I am intrigued as to where they are going to take that.

After reading the positive views on here I've decided to ditch Jessica Jones S2 and move straight on to this - it's time to head back to Harlem. :datass:

Season 2 stays great throughout rather than the season 1 halfway dip.

Pacing was good too.

Ending of it makes it quite interesting as to how it'll progress in season 3.

Watched the first episode and didn't think a great deal of it. The main thing I didn't like about the first series was the lack of a formidable enemy. Luke Cage is too powerful for the level of enemies he had to deal with and as a result, thought his inclusion in The Defenders had the same problem as he could rip through the enemies DD, Iron Fist and JJ needed to deal with.

The villain at the end of episode 1 S2 will hopefully be somewhere equal to LC.

Yes?

Spoilers obviously.

I think S3 will be really interesting. They dropped hints throughout S2 that Luke could turn evil, punching the wall when he was angry with Claire and then all the talk about how the club gets a hold of you and turns you dark. He is basically now a crime boss, just without the crime.

I don't think he will turn full evil, but I think he will turn darker and go too far with bad guys/suspects. That'll lead to confrontation with Misty and maybe Iron Fist.

He'll be back to good Luke by the end, but it'll be fun to see him letting himself go.

This annoyed me about The Defenders, but also the fact that they seem to raise and lower people's relative strengths as and when it suits them.

Near the start of the defenders it takes a full on punch from the powered up "Iron Fist" to even rock Luke, but later in the series he is getting knocked about by regular Hand operatives?

Daredevil next then. I hope they don’t leave the next few shows with open ends unless they are carrying over to Disney. Or maybe they’re merging Luke Cage and Iron Fist like people wanted a long time ago, hence both shows being cancelled
