I would imagine so. Usually the Netflix shows are set around 1-2 years before the date they are released. Jessica Jones Season 2 was set sometime after the events of Civil War, not that it really affects anything. All of the Netflix shows before JJ S2 were set before Civil War, so maybe some of them from now on will deal with the aftermath of superpowers in public.

Doesn’t the MCU basically try to ignore the fact that the Netflix shows exist? I know the shows have had the occasional incredibly loose nod to the films but I tend to just treat them as their own separate entities really.

LC Season 2 trailer looks solid, but I’m struggling to get through JJS2 at the moment, was disappointed by The Defenders and haven’t even watched Punisher yet - I think I may need a break from these shows for a bit.

Definitely looking forward to this. Bushmaster looks like a decent villain, although only going from the tiny amount we see of him in the trailer.

I'd love it if the Netflix series showed the aftermath of Infinity War but I highly doubt it'd ever happen, it'd just take too much focus away from their own stories and they've barely capitalised on anything else in the MCU up to this point (plus it's probably all going to get reversed with timey-wimey stuff in Avengers 4 anyway). It's a shame because it's the sort of situation that's crying out for a look into what it's like for ordinary people which Defenders would be perfect for but A4 is probably going to neglect that in favour of the bigger picture.

And we'd also have a 50% chance of Iron Fist being wiped from history! (spoiled for Infinity War).

Kevin Feige managed to get Marvel Studios (the film studio) split off from Marvel Entertainment (the comics and TV part of the company) so he now reports directly to Walt Disney Studios instead of Marvel Entertainment. The head of Marvel Entertainment, Isaac Perlmutter is a complete knobend, he's a member of Trump's cabinet and was the reason Fantastic Four and X-Men characters appeared in less games, merchandise and marketing material. The Fantastic Four comic was also cancelled for a few years and some of the characters weren't allowed to appear in other comics at all due to his pettiness over Marvel not having the movie rights to the characters. From the sounds of things it was Perlmutter that wanted an Inhumans movie and for that side of the universe to basically be the replacement for X-Men since they didn't have the rights to that either but after Marvel Studios split off to Disney, that was cancelled and they rushed out that low-budget TV show instead.

I wouldn't expect anything major to happen in SHIELD, Cloak & Dagger, Runaways or the Netflix shows other than some little references or whatever. They really should just split it off from the MCU completely and do what the CW does with their DC shows having them in their own continuity.

Rewatching S1 of Luke Cage ahead of S2 dropping on Friday. Those first few episodes are really, really good. But without a brilliant performance like Mahershala Ali delivered as Cottonmouth, then they'd struggle to meet those heights.

I'm going to give this a second chance but season 1 was too much filler and I really didn't like the pacing.

I'm definitely suffering Marvel/Netflix overload - I'm stuck halfway through JJS2 and haven't even started with Punisher. I'll get round to Power man soon enough I'm sure but I feel like they've really gone down in quality since DDS2.

Here's a recap for anyone who skipped season 1 and is perhaps tuning in after seeing Luke Cage in The Defenders

Episode 10 :datass: possibly the best Marvel/Netflix episode. Maybe even the best of all Marvel TV

That was really good. Better than Season 1 overall, although it did feel slower to get in to in comparison. It had a few gross bits to rival the car door scene in Daredevil 1 :dread: Still had a bit of filler here and there though. My new favourite Marvel Netflix season.

It had some really good unexpected team up moments, and I liked how they handled the gangs storyline

Iron Fist 2 is next I think and I think it's got the 8 episode run this time (now there's no Defenders and Punisher has taking up the 13 episode series slot). Really looking forward to that now with different people working on it behind the scenes and if it really is 8 episodes, hopefully it wont have the filler.

I couldn't finish the first Luke Cage - is this worth trying?

That sounds like high praise. Only watched the opening episode last night, it felt slow, although I think that's standard new season setup.

For the record I enjoyed the first season despite it being hated by people here.

Wait, did people hate LC season 1? It's not top tier TV obviously but it was still a very good show, particularly in the first half of the season!

I haven't got round to the new season of this yet - I kind of want to finish JJ S2 first but that's proving a bit of a slog at the moment.
