1x10- Diamondback's foolproof method of framing Luke Cage is to murder a cop and repeatedly scream, "I'M LUKE CAGE!".

This is a great plan.

I watched the last episode last night, it was pretty good overall. LC > DD S2 > JJ/DD S1

It was a shame they killed off Cottonmouth, although it was a surprise, Diamondback didn't really fill the hole that was left.

Lot's of characters and references from the other shows and movies I noticed, almost too many. Was cool to see Turk playing chess as a reformed ex criminal, Daredevils methods must work assuming he doesn't get involved again now that Diamondback is off the streets.

S.H.E.I.L.D. really should have shown up towards the end there when the police were outmatched, but then the explosive bullet supply to the police plot would have been redundant then I guess. That was the only flaky part of the show that I could see story wise.

I'm guessing this was set before Civil War? A few months after Jessica Jones and parallel to Season 2 of Daredevil.

Only on Episode 3 and I love it. It's so good. I think Netflix has hit the nail with the series being 13 shows long. Absolutely no room for filler episodes at all. The story needs to be told and HOW! wow! Number 4 and 5 tonight.

Didn't expect the twist in number 3 at all.

6 episodes in and loving it!

One thing that's troubling me slightly though is I'm finding it a little unclear as to whether or not everyone is supposed to know that Luke's got superpowers. One minute it seems like everyone does and let's face it they should do given the things that have clearly happened to the guy, the next someone says something that makes it seem like his powers are still some unknown quantity!

Either way looking forward to seeing how the second half of the season plays out!

Without thinking he's Ryan from Castle in about 20 years:

Just finished the series. I thought it was great. Although there are two plot holes that bugged me.

1. Why is Mariah still getting all the press love and strutting around being called councilwoman when she is explicitly told she has to resign over the phone and loses her gooseberry fool.

2. Luke was shot twice with the Judas rounds, the first time in the stomach and the second time in the upper torso, knocking him into the dumpster truck. Regardless of whether or not the 2nd round failed to detonate, why were only bullet fragments removed from a single wound during the acid bath?

There are a few other obtuse things like just how dumb the police are. Also Luke doesn't explain his "context" for taking down the 2 policemenand is basically let off completely for his reckless vigilanteism, despite being caught numerous times by different outfits (unlike Daredevil who apart from 1 police officer and the firm no one knows who he is).

Up to episode 10 now and the absolute highlight of the show is the banner at the back of Harlem' Paradise that says 'The only superfreak we like is Rick James'.

EDIT: Episode 11 'What are you talking about Willis' Holy strawberry float.

Not really getting into this the same extent as DD or JJ. One of the main problems is the Luke Cage is kind of flat as a character. I know he's supposed to be super smooth and all that but it would not kill them to have him emote a bit more. It doesn't help that his virtual invulnerability robs him of the vulnerability of the Matt or Jessica and thus kind of eliminates a lot of tension from the action scenes. The other issue is that the plot seems to move at a snails pace compared with the other Marvel shows. On the plus side, the soundtrack is awesome.

I am only about half way though now so hopefully it ramps up as it nears the climax.

Loved the Warriors reference in one of the later episodes too.

Having finished the season now:

Cottonmouth was so much better than Diamondback and yet they kill him off half-way through. I think Cottonmouth was probably my favourite Marvel Netflix villain, he's what the Kingpin should have been.

I did like Diamondback's American Son visor though.

Really? This is the first MCU project I've watched and thought the hero could genuinely lose this one

Diamondback's costume was a nice nod to his comic one

Agree with Cottonmouth being the best villain yet. I did really like Diamondback too.

I think this is definitely one of the best series so far. I'd definitely rate it above Daredevil season 1 and Jessica Jones. Not sure if it's better than DD season 2 though, I'll probably need to rewatch that to decide.

What's coming next? Iron Fist then Defenders? or is Jessica Jones season 2 before that?

Isn't it Iron Fist in March next?

Iron Fist is March then I think it's Defenders and Punisher. Iron Fist and Punisher are both filming now.

I liked to imagine how playing in these dives is an occupational hazard for all the musicians.

Probably my least favourite of the Netflix Marvel shows but still very good. Roll on Iron Fist.
