I've kept away from any footage or even trailers. I find it's best that way as I don't get obsessed with the hype. Where is the cheapest place to buy this from? Amazon is about £65. Sorry, I know there is inflation and all that, and I'd definitely get the value from it, but as a 90s kid I just can't spend £60 on a game unless it's Ocarina of Time 4K Remastered with lifetime backward compatibility!

I want to buy it, but I refuse to spend £70 and I know it will be coming on PS+ one day.

£65 with £10 of reward points at TGC.

You can redeem TGC reward points as if they were a gift voucher etc (i.e. it can cover 100% of the product cost).

Played about an hour this morning. It's excellent so far. Lots to see and do and a nice range of activities.

Any comments on which graphics mode is best?

Only tried performance, it looks great, loads of reflections in the windows too. The 30fps adds more graphical detail but for a game which is all about speed, it seems pointless to have an NPC have more detailed hair if I'm going to swing past them at rocket speed anyway.

The absolute best is 40fps uncapped with VRR enabled but to get that one would have to double their budget and get a 120Hz HDMI 2.1 TV

Does this have dynamic weather systems/proper day and night cycle this time round or is it all still set based on where you are at in the story?

I'm an hour or two in and at the part where Peter goes back to Queens and he and Harry go for a bike ride.

On anyone else's game did Harry knock over a pedestrian? :lol:

Played some more during my lunch break. It's all kicking off now, which is good after some slower story moments.

The new wing suit is really good. Makes getting around a lot faster. Also being able to turn of QTE is great, no more annoying mini games or hassle when stopping speeding cars.

My copy of this never arrived, luckily Mario Wonder did, hopefully this comes tomorrow

Opening scenes spoiler: I'm sure taking that kind of employment when you are spiderman is a very bad idea, Peter.

I forgot how much of a miserable experience it is buying a physical PS5 game and not being able to play it as soon as you put the disk in.

Seems a lukewarm reception on GR to another Sony exclusive.

Unlocking more stuff and just had another great cut scene. Story is really good and the pace is moving along nicely. Kraven is a great bad guy and comes across as very Bane like.

Unlocked more side things to do, which are all enjoyable and a great way to unlock more skills and upgrades. Not a fan of the different suits that I can unlock, they take up useful resources and they are not very interesting to me. As the game has removed unique suit powers, they are just cosmetic and pointless.

So far enjoying miles unique moves more than Peter's but I'm sure that'll change as soon as a certain unique suit makes an appearance.

Not had a chance to play yet, forgot I was doing Star Wars RPG tonight :fp:

so hopefully can get a decent session tomorrow.

Amazingly managed to make combat and traversal even better, smooth.

Story is superb, love the way its heading. Glad Kravens getting the spotlight thought he might have been bit part.

So many more suits and styles in this game, one of my favourite parts.

Well I think this is incredible.,looks and plays very ‘next gen’. It’s so pretty and responsive.

Yes it’s just a refined evolution of the last game rather than a revolution - but everything’s turned up to 11 and all the rough edges trimmed and lessons learned.

If Hexx things it's incredible, then I'm very excited for Christmas! :mrgreen:
