I enjoyed my hour or so with it last night before I collapsed. I was a little numb to the intro, probably a side effect of the exhaustion. I might restart it tonight if I feel fresh. I did turn off swing assist and turned on fall damage so it feels a lot different moving about the city. I definitely feel more engaged having to think about the physics of every swing now, and pulling off a particularly smooth move feels amazing, but the downside is that it’s not forgiving at all anymore. When transporting ~the~VIP~ to hospital I was struggling to get the height to actually manage a swing, so ended up just back on the ground over and over, which made Miles look a little incompetent, really.

Yeah, I've done the same with the settings and Spider-Man is looking like a right mug at times with my swinging  Much more enjoyable than having it basically auto-swing for you though.

I'm a few hours in now and the game is fantastic for fans of Spider-Man, the story and characters are great and there's loads of little nods and touches.

The set-pieces so far have been pretty spectacular, interested to see how they can keep ramping up throughout the game.

This is how I’m playing.

Only got an hour with it, but it’s superb. A real next gen feel of a game.

Some of the side stuff is excellent. Just done a mission with an amazingly chilled musical moment in it. Earlier did a mission that showed off the PS5 tech in the same way Ratchet and Clank did with it's portals. The amount of characters and potential for dlc and a sequel is really exciting.

Just got "the suit" :datass:

Amazing cut scene before it. Everything feels great in the game, it all just flows so well and connects together perfectly.

Great opening set piece, it really is just more of the same so far with added bells and whistles (Not such a bad thing)

Little bit glitchy though, had a few instances where enemies have glitched across the screen to different spots

Almost maxed out my symbiote suit powers, it's a great style of gameplay and they have really captured the power and brutality of it.

Rally strong game for accessibility, loads of options for turning off qte, making things easier or making it more challenging. Also really good diverse cast, great representation of different people and cultures.

The side and main quests flow together so well. I'm naturally doing both and trying to finish all side stuff before moving to the next main mission, that way I'm always ready to upgrade skills unlocked in the main missions.

This is really glitchy, had scenes where the subtitles were not correct to what was being spoken on screen (Dialogue in the subs was being shown out of order of the actual conversation that was going on) lots of items in the world just floating in mid air  hope it gets patched soon, reading online it seems lots of people are experiencing glitches of some kind.

It’s been good so far but I can’t say I’m loving it, as of now I prefer the 2018 game to this but the story is still very much early days. Not a big fan of the suit unlocks so far either, I want classic costumes from the comics, not new ones designed for the game.

Also, why have they removed impact webbing and web bombs? Even the weapon wheel to select your gadgets? The combat changes they have made I can’t say I’m a big fan of.

Hot on the heels of Microsoft utilising the Las Vegas Sphere, Sony has taken it over for Spider-Man!

Looks pretty cool although, as Tomous mentioned previously, I don't think you'd really want to live too near this!

Also in Spider-Man 2 news, a number of gamers in the UK and Europe are reporting problems with installing the disc version of the game, with a failure occurring at 36% during the setup process. The odd thing is that some people have changed the disc for another and still had the same issue.

Thankfully it seems that no GRcadian has experienced this fault!

Love where the story is going in this, the various Kraven stories from comics are some of my favourite.

Agree this is quite buggy, not that it effects my enjoyment any but its interesting it's some of same things Starfield was ripped apart for but this gets a pass.

So far, hard crash randomly to home screen, walking and falling through a train onto the tracks and the water looking bizarrely awful and out if place

And done - 94%, just Spiderbots to find really.

Obviously really enjoyed it. Didn’t have any real glitches. Couple of times a door/item want interactable but a quick reload solved.

Whilst it was great and broadly improved feel that combat and stealth were a little bit too simplified (from memory) - lack of gadgets/weapon wheels etc made all fights or stealth’s a bit samey.

Plot wise i think it’s very strong - especially in second half where it does more if it’s own version of the classics, but the finale for me didn’t have the same hit as fighting Otto at the end of 1.

There’s a lot of set up for 3, or DLC. I do t think they’ve announced any? While 1 had Black Cat announced ore launch?

Silly number of characters and arcs in this but all get their moment. Didn’t like hit by the end miles’ powers and abilities make Peter completely outclassed.

Odd choice after the opening to delay boss fights till basically the 2nd half. Some of them are spectacular.

Edit oh. The mid credits scene will send a shudder down anyone who remembers the late 90s in comics, and the post credits scene will confuse 95% of players. Insomniac has some balls. (Don’t try to guess. You’ll be wrong. That’s why I didn’t spoiler this bit)

Closing in on the last few missions. The ending of the cult side mission was so good. So much fan service.

Yeah when you twig, that’s great.

I can’t decide if it’s setting up DLC or the sequel

Yuri suggests she’ll be in contact soon and they might not want symbiotes again on S3 so leaning towards DLC

And finished. 92% completed, couple of suits to buy, 2 suit to upgrades to unlock and a few side things to do. 20 hours total playtime.

An enjoyable game and one that really perfects what has come before. The next chapter is potentially really interesting with some big bads being set up.

Kraven was amazing, some of the smaller enemies are memorable and Venom was an interesting threat at first. But like always with Venom there is very little you can do with the character so it feels a bit stretched in parts.

The story is the highlight of the game, the rest is game is very enjoyable but now the story is over I'm not going to dive back in and go straight to playthrough 2.
