Which bit of ep 6 are you talking about? Alexandra dying? Or the Stick stuff?

Episode 6:

when stick burns incense that weakens everyone's powers and then Electra turns up and decimates everyone  stick :fp:

And then Alexandra gets slaughtered

Ive watched this all now.
The first three episodes were really good. The rest of it ticked along nicely with some good moments.

Not quite sure how they got let off from the police at the end though - is that what they call plot armour?

So did dare devil escape though madam guos back door in the end?

They said something like "get Mary" at the end. I'm guessing that's some set up for a comic story but it means nothing to me

That's some epic sweeping under the rug/hand waving at the end

Proper thoughts

(No story spoilers, but themes/acting, so taken precaution)

It's bobbins. Murdoch/Jones light up the screen when their on - Cage/Rand work just about as well as reactors in and essemble rather than driving forces.

Murdoch gets the strongest "arc". Jones/Cage kinda get a story line each - but not very well developed. Rand's storyline is pretty much non-existent (his "realization" at the end seems to come from no where) - they fact they reduce him to a McGuffin is rather a telling. His "big" scene (in a boardroom) is rather laughable for how lightweight and nonthreatening he comes off)

The Hand are as rubbish as they've always been - and are seemingly inconsistent level of threats.

Which is another big issue - it's hard to gauge everyone's relative "power". Who's better? Who's stronger? Why? Why is the Black Sky so strong? Why does Stick need help when he's amazing himself? Who's the underdog in each fight? What's the match ups like? Iron Fist is the ultimate weapon against the hand but Jones can fight Ninja's just as well? Murdoch is the best fighter Stick's ever seen - then what is Iron Fist? Some Ninjs use skill to beat Cage/Jones, but other times their strength lets them stomp through?
Everyone's power and relative "skill index" is so influx...it just makes match ups confusing. Oh X is going to fight Y....um...?
We also get some fights where X is beating Y, until Y REALLY TRIES and wins. My least favorite Trope.

Story spoilers now

So the Hand's big play was to dig a big hole, then build a huge building over it (why? the hole was there fine in D2) to go down and dig up some dragon bones (which are in New York why) to make more substance. Oh and once the bones have been dug up the city will crumble (why?)

To help do this they need to use all their reaming substance to bring back Elektra, so she can help them get more substance?

And the dragon bones are protected by a magical Iron Fist wall (what? how? why?)

And what was the tremor creating explosion for then?

Some of the side characters had nice moments (Foggy/Karen/Trish mostly) but others were their to tick boxes (Did Misty have a point beyond standing around asking questions no one would answer?)

And then after they blew up a building in New York with the entire NYPD - it's all magically lawyered away? That's some next level bullshit - why pretend the law is going to be an issue if you just magic it away, other than trying to create the impression of stakes (because they knew the city in danger plot was wobbly?). AND THEY BLEW UP A BUILDING!!!!!! How is that so easily covered up/no one asking question etc?

Overall loved being back with Murdoch and Jones in their world(s) and characters - this as an actual product was pretty weak.

Ep 1. I'm loving those palette swaps between each character.

I really enjoyed it but - as Hexx alludes to - it fell apart a bit in the last couple of episodes, but you get a bit swept up in it so it doesn't matter a huge amount at the time.
Iron Fist was the weakest aspect of the show by far, which didn't surprise me one bit. The sooner they bury that character - or seriously man him up - the better.
And the post-credits bit! Good lord!

I forgot that - someone told me to watch (and what it was) = but my Netflix instead auto played a trailer for what I (eventually) realised was The Mist.

I was very confused

I caught it completely by accident!
Also, I definitely wouldn't object to future seasons of their shows being less than 13 episodes long. This had a lovely pace to it, despite having to juggle 4 protagonists, and a couple of antagonist branches. Weaver was frankly superb in this.

Honestly - I thought she bobbins. She went for "wise, mysterious. ethereal" and i thought it didn't work and just game across as bored/couldn't act.

I enjoyed this but found it a bit jarring in places especially Jessica Jones. I felt the tone of her standalone series didn't gel as well as the others. Her character is all about investigation and reluctant involvement. Having her involved in mass punch ups with ninjas didn't feel right to me. Daredevil and ironfist fit together given the hand connection and Luke Cage fits in as a brawler kind of hero. Then again they were so inconsistent with his powers. Danny punched and kicked him and he didn't even flinch but later the hand are able to knock him over and unconscious??

It's made abundantly clear that the reason Cage is knocked out is because he inhaled the incense that Stick burned to incapacitate him - his skin is indestructible, his insides are not. This is consistent with events in both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage's standalone series'. I don't remember him being knocked out at any other time.

Ok but he gets sent flying, knocked over and reels from the impact of the hand attacks in the late episode fights. This conflicts completely with how they presented his powers in JJ,LC and even early in his fight with IF. Where he just stands there as people hit him and he doesn't even move an inch

Yeah it's one of the complete inconsistency in powers/fights that makes it pretty hard to
work out how much "threat" there is in each fight - which in turn makes it harder to invest.

Stick sort of said the new Hand finger we met in this would "stop his heart",
which suggested he meant precision strikes etc to counter Luke's strength/hardiness -
but then in the fight at the end it all seems pretty much a brawl between equals

As much as I loved this that trailer at the end gave me goosebumps and a huge grin. Better than The Defenders :shifty: :datass:

Thought the first four episodes were stronger than the last four, where it really struggled to hold my attention.

There's something really off with that Daredevil mask design. Most of the time it looks really goofy. Something wrong about the eyes. Like his theme tune should be duelling banjos maybe.

Also, is Danny Rand really as much of a knob in the comics as he is shown to be here?

I think the thing with Daredevil's mask is the nose covering makes it looks wierd. It extends right down to the tip of his nose whereas in all the other comic designs and the previous films it didn't. Bugs me as well.
