Yep, nail on the head right there.

That's why I had no problem sabotaging the genophage in my Renegade Shep play through. He even tells you on the shuttle on the way down to Tuchunka that he's going to strawberry float everyone up after this war is over.

Snap, it's why I sabotaged it, to get the maximum war assets too. The next run through I have Wrex and I intend to 'fess up on the shuttle down. I played the first run 'for the greater good of the galaxy', maximising assets at the sake of friends because I thought it would have an impact on the end :fp: . Next time, I'll be more selective. Save the krogan, kill the geth.

Yep, had no problem saving sabotaging the cure (Wrex died in my ME1 playthrough). I was torn at the start of the mission (when the female was alive, and going through the ruins, but when she died, I was never saving the Krogans). Got to save Mordin too, but then he just made his way to the crucible and I never saw him again. :( Wouldn't have had the heart to get rid of him anyway, I don't think.

I like it! It was a genuine 'what do I do moment'. The whole chapter is based upon deceiving the krogan and then mordin throws the curve ball.. Save the galaxy or save mordin, I shot him! I regretted and it actually had an emotional impact, staggering really.

I let Mordin sacrifice himself to implement the cure, it was rather emotional leaving him as he sang the Gillbert & Sullivan opera he used to on the ship. His name is on the ship memorial now, I stood there and Garrus chatted about him.

I haven't finished the game yet, I'm just at Thessia now, but the story so far has been wonderful - the new Quarain and Geth co-existence on the homeworld as Legion too sacrificed himself for his people was another chocking moment.

The ending will have to be utterly terrible to spoil this, I am rather hopeful I won't find it too bad....

I think I was pretty much exactly where you are, so many great moments and some decisions that really made you think and consider what you wanted. The first 90% of the game is the peak of the series, but where mass effect 2 builds well, 3 literally falls flat on its face!

Sorry!

Hmm, if it is that bad I shall consider not completing it until the new extra ending stuff comes out. My only concern is that I don't know how long to wait and I have to keep pawing at my iphone at work to keep my "Galactic Readiness" up like some kind of conditioned monkey.

Watch the ending as it is. You at least will see it's true monstrosity with the knowledge that this is not "it".

Spare a thought for the poor bastards who saw that ending with no knowledge that there might be another, better ending in the pipeline.

How is that a surprise.

Blatantly obvious from the first game.

Actually, come to think of it, the way Shepard would approach him on the Normandy in ME1 always struck me as being a bit homoerotic. I should've seen it coming.

I did feel awful turning him down though. Didn't want to break his heart, we're like bros. :(

Did make my intentions towards Liara known though and she likes me back.   Shepard's looking foward to those big blue ones. :datass:

Still hoping for a chance to confess to someone about what I did to Mordin but I can't see it ever being an option. Stupid Bioware.

I just never got on with Ashley in the first game. She was too opinionated and when she started spouting about bible and gooseberry fool, eugh, get out.

Kaidan I always had a soft spot for though. I see him as a little brother.

Went shooting in the citadel with Garrus last night too. Garrus

He had migraines because of the L2 implant he had for his biotics. The same L2 implant that was the reason for all the Biotic Terrorist missions in ME1.

Actually, the L2 implants are more powerful than the much safer L3 implants. ;)
