I found red dead revolver to be excellent

I loved Red Dead Revolver too. Made a nice change from the norm.

Plus the music was brilliant.

New IPs is what we need, the autumn/winter 08 release schedule is great but there are far too many numbers at the end of the titles!

This is true.

There was terrible load times, the graphics were awful and it controlled like a 1 legged, under-fed cow

On the PC however, it was brilliant.

I enjoyed the original Max Payne on PS2. It was a but fiddly in places, but I loved the style of the story parts. Never played the second one though.

Max Payne 2 was gooseberry fool on PS2 because the PS2 wasn't powerful enough to handle it.

I'm worried that Remedy aren't involved though, it may end up being the downfall of the Max Payne series.

I had just upgraded my PC when MP2 was released and I enjoyed the demo so picked up the full game.

One of the best games I have ever played. Stunning graphics, great story and amazing gameplay. If you haven't played the PC version you must do it now!

Yeah but it was gooseberry fool on the Xbox too...

It was developed for PC. All console versions pale in comparison.

No it isn't. Surely you are wondering why people who have played it on PC say it is fantastic and those that played it on PS2 say otherwise. Therefore one can assume that it was terribly dumbed down. There's just no way that the PS2 could have the same graphics as the PC version. The use of ragdolls and physics especially.

No, like MGS2 on Xbox, MP2 on PS2 was useless. I mean, I didn't think it was an amazing game in the first place, but the PS2 version was terrible. Graphically alone it went down the shitter.

I'd love a new Max Payne

The exclusive Rockstar game might be the Western one they showed at E3 '05 but I wouldn't put too much stock in "Shane rumours".

And I can't speak for the PS2 version but Max Payne 2 was definitely not gooseberry fool on the Xbox. I don't know how well it runs on the 360 though.

It has some slowdown during the more action packed levels, but apart from that it run pretty well on the 360.

Max Payne 2 is action glory on the PC. It looks fantastic, plays fantastic, level design is superb and memorable, the characters are very memorable, the voice acting is superb, the ragdoll physics, the new weapons, the bullet time effect, the sound...o god the sound is amazing still, bullets bite hard and explosions rock the place...all of it gels together so well to make a great single player gaming experience. It's very hard for games to do set pieces well, but Max Payne 2 excels in it. One of my favourite shooters.

Wow this news has made my day, 1st I have ever heard of a potential max payne 3 in the works, have I been living under a rock or something on this one ? :fp:

Ever since leaping forward in bullet time firing dual berettas for the 1st time I have always had time for the max payne games

Rockstar aren't very good at keeping things console-exclusive. For example the GTA series and allegedly LA Noire.
