Yes. Just if you have an existing collection that might take a while.

Plex on a good cpu is cool because you can drop virtually anything in it and it will always play.

Plex transcode also downsizes it for transmission based on your settings does it not? You can target a bitrate.

Most of the apps allow you to choose a default rate or specify for each item you play.

Oh right, didnt know you could do it in app. I just set a target from the plex config.
