Why are Americans such massive banana splits about being filmed?

Kind of funny really. They don't mind their government spying on everything they do online, but they mind it when some stranger points a camera at them and narrates.

Yeah standing up to the US Government vs. some gimp with a camera in your face are the exact same things.

This is how you should react to being filmed

Most of the people in the video were actually quite cool about it, one guy even played along with the narration, ffs. I'm sure you'd get a similar reaction in the UK or anywhere else.

I can't imagine anyone calling the police for that over here.
You see it in so many videos someone calling the police. What laws are they actually breaking?

Video was hilarious anyways.

If people don't want to be filmed, then they shouldn't be.

CCTV cameras say hi.

If you're in a public place people can film you and take pictures as much as they like.
You're only breaking the law when you're either harassing someone when they politely ask you to stop and walk away or if you're in a store or something and the store owner asks you to stop.

Why are we even making this a thing? Laugh at the video.

I think you yourself got that started by wondering

Quite a provocative question, I think...

Maybe I should have put an  after to indicate my tone?

Guessing literally nobody watched the video I posted after the MEGA 64 one or they'd have realised I don't think a whole nation of people all act the same.

The woman who threw the phone onto the road was a bit over the top, but I sympathise with those not wanted to be filmed without their consent.

Yup, I find it rather intimidating myself, I don't even like my picture being taken.

Great stuff; gotta love Mega64!

I still enjoy the "Vita Game of the Year" slot in every awards vid :-).
