Edit: strawberry float sake, top of the page.

I've restarted the whole thing with Ground Zeroes and I just finished it under two hours. It's great and I need to get use to the controls. Holy hell, I forgot how amazing it looks and I will try to get into it more before I restarted the Phantom Pain. :D

You know, Ground Zeroes might be my favourite MGS game.

But I can never decide for long

Preezy wrote:Yeah gameplay-wise this is one of the best games I've ever played. Not paid a lick of attention to the story, skipped all the cutscenes and ignored all the cassettes but in terms of clearing bases of enemies this is the pinnacle.

I think it's worth paying attention to the story this time, as there's less of it. And I always listened to the cassettes at the end of each gaming session.

Finally finished Chapter 1 earlier today. When on song this game is so, so good. Sneaking into the base during Mission 30 was a high point, it's a shame there's not more dense areas in the game.

Can't be bothered with Chapter 2 for now. Might give GZ a go.

I completed mission 28 last night where you have to extract Code Talker from the mansion in the jungle. Took the easy way and used a tank to clear the sniper Skulls

Mission 29 though, that can strawberry float right off, switched off my PS4 after my 4th attempt, just infuriating :x :x :x I am loathe to look up guides on how to complete missions but this one might break me.

You'll all be thrilled, delighted and aroused to hear that I finally managed to beat Mission 29. I'm now on 38% complete after countless hours of playing time. Still skipping the story though, just not interested in it.

Well done! :)

I haven't started it yet as I just have returned to work this week and hopefully I will start it this weekend.

Finally, I've started it and it's brilliant so far. I am currently on Episode Three and I must say a lot of things are a far better than Ghost Recon's Wildlands.

Played a bit of this over the weekend and finally finished chapter 1 (I didn't even know the game was split into chapters  ). I don't know if I've got the game on easy but I absolutely breezed through the Sahelanthropus battle, just spammed it with rockets, wasn't as challenging as I was expecting (or hoping).

The very next mission I tried was a subsistence one (where you are dropped in with no equipment at all) and had to destroy some satellites in a heavily guarded base (with the heavyily armoured dudes that take a pounding) and that was far more enjoyable, really had to think about my approach and felt genuine tension and elation when I completed it. Probably my favourite mission so far

Just to let you know, all the missions with modifiers like subsistence etc. are repeats of earlier ones, and you don't have to complete these to finish the game. If you are getting burnt out on them, only complete new missions, and if there are no new missions just complete a few side ops and you should get called back to base for a cutscene. Of course if you are having fun with them then just play through them all, the game can get a bit easy once you have developed loads of weapons so forcing you to procure on site can add some tension to the game again.

Yeah I got called back to my base so that Miller could tell me that some kid died when a bit of scaffolding collapsed or something, thanks for that

I'm just working my way through whichever mission I like the look of, most of the side ops are starting to repeat but I don't mind, gives me an opportunity to approach them differently to the last time so it helps keep things fresh.

Again, just want to state how perfectly the actual control mechanics work, it's so slick and intuitive, moving around the environment and clearing bases is just magnficent :datass:

In pure gameplay terms it's easily one of my favourite games of all time. I've spent a lot of time with it and I just don't get bored, there are countless options so that replaying missions always throws up something different. For me I think the peak of the game is towards the end of chapter one in the mission whereyou need to rescue Code Talker from the mansion.

Choose a drop off point near the objective and use the choppers mini-gun to destroy the satellite dishes without even touching the ground (And you'll get an S rank)

It's an amazing game. More or less perfect apart from the extremely dodgy Quiet stuff (which is a particular shame as I used her the most...)

Starting to get into this series now (Going to go through the original PS1 Solid game shortly)

Does the definitive edition of this contain everything on Disc or does it have download codes? Only ask as CEX have it for £8 but I want to make nothing would be missing buying second hand.
