I think it unlocks after mission 8. I'd also done all available SOs at least once.

Ah, I think I've done maybe 3 main missions in about 50 hours  :fp:

Think I need to actually play the game a bit to progress :shifty:

And to think people on this forum mocked me for taking 70 hours after finishing the 13th mission. :slol:

If I get the chance this evening I will find out my total play time and what main mission I'm up to, I'm sure it's close to what I've predicted.

92%

Mission Tasks: 86%
Animals: 70%
Key Items: 95%

The last key item is S-rank in everything. All that's left is the first 'C2W' due to the glitch, 'Code Talker' which I know for a fact I can S-rank easily, and 'Skull Face' which I fell out with after doing a fairly quick Total Stealth, No Kills run and getting an A. Would have got No Trace but had to toss a magazine right at the end.

Gonna take a break until the glitch is fixed or MGO happens. Whichever comes first. Or simultaneously.

Well that's chapter 1 complete. strawberry floating awesome but just left me wanting so much more. I really wish they'd have put some more story and cutscenes throughout the game. I really wanted to see a lot more and judging from you lot, I'm not going to get that in chapter 2.

There is still so much of the lore left unexplored in-game. :(

Would've loved for some more interaction with key characters like Eli.

It is. It's bloody ace, too. Scared the crap out of me first time I used it, though. I'd forgotten all about it (left PS4 running after starting dev) and thought the chopper during a SO had spotted me all of a sudden as everything around me lit up. :slol:

It unlocked after doing one of the chapter 2 legendary beast missions. Legendary jackal, I think.

142 hours later and that's the story finished. I'll go back and mop up the last side ops and the handful of modified missions then see if I can be arsed to go for 100% completion.

I was waiting for the quality dip in chapter two but I think I actually preferred it to the first overall. I never felt like I was grinding as some people suggested you had to do to progress and it had more memorable moments for me, such as Quiet's ending and the Diamond Dogs humming the Peace Walker theme as they gladly resign themselves to being put down by their boss. It's still fresh so I might change my mind looking back on things in more detail but for all the cries of cut content, the only thing I can think of that was left unresolved is what happened to Sahelanthropus (and I don't mean Eli or Mantis as well, MGS1 is all I need to know about what ended up happening to them). I liked the ending too, I could practically hear Kojima thanking me for playing in Big Boss' last few lines of dialogue. Thematically the game has some very interesting ideas which is what I play this series for anyway, so I find it easy to overlook any missteps in regards to the canon or lore. I'm looking forward to checking out other interpretations.

It's not without its issues for sure, my main gripe being that the pacing makes the story feel all over the place at times and there's no sense of urgency. That's clearly a result of how the gameplay is set up with the open-world and mission structure though... gameplay which just so happens to be amazing so I find it hard to complain too much. The game is probably a good example to toss into the linear or non-linear argument. Anyway, I loved it.

Also, Huey is a massive twat! I'm glad his son cuckolded him until he drowned himself, the prick.

So I've listened to all the yellow tapes, done all the yellow side ops I have so far and the only missions I have available are the repeats of chapter 1. Can I progress without having to do these all over again? Don't fancy doing the skulls on extreme as hiding on roof tops is kinda boring :slol:

Have you maxed out all your buddy bonds? You don't have to do any modified missions at all to unlock 'Truth' and unless you somehow missed a yelliw tape or side-op somewhere that's all I can think of.

No I haven't maxed out my bond with Quiet. Suppose I'll do that. Cheers dude.

We need to do a GR tally of time spent on this. We could have one for everyone who's still playing and another for game completed time.

I'm at 74 hours game time and overall 41% complete. I think I'm just waiting on the very last story mission to open up.

I was on 90 hours either yesterday or the day before and I've had a massive SO sesh going from 1 end of the Afghan map to the other..On foot..nabbing high level guards along the way and containers. Had over 10,000 processed precious metal but couldn't sell them all due to not even half of it reaching the limit of GMP you can own :slol:

Got around 8k left which I'll save for a rainy day. Speaking of rain, never knew it washes off the blood from Snake.

So now must be around 95+ hours, 40% complete and done up to Episode 22 (Next is meeting Eli/White Mamba) need to replay 21 though as Quiet gunned down the inspector before I'd even laid eyes on him and I wanted to extract him.

Turns out I haven't sank quite as much time into this as I'd feared, 30 hours in and I'm (stuck) on level 6 Red Brass.

I'm about 40 hours in, just completed mission 12.
