A load of blueprint SOs just unlocked (blueprints which seemingly don't make anything new available to develop :fp: ) and my infiltration tactics went to pot while I got them. Not once did I manage to sneak in and out with none the wiser. Airport was the worst as I ended up dying twice *and* managed to get a high rated soldier killed as I engaged in a firefight... with him slung over my shoulders. :slol:  And then in the big base where the Huey mission takes place, I somehow managed to ignore a soldier who had A+ and A++ across the board! I only spotted him after I'd alerted the base and one of his fellow soldiers woke him from my tranq induced slumber. :fp:

You need to have done mission 22 (?) and then a tutorial thing will happen when you're on the chopper.

That's done, and I've built my FOB, but there's no option to start infiltration missions.

Maybe do a mission or side op and then go back to the chopper when you're done.

So, Mission 22...
The emergency MB one. Cleared the first group of hostage takers, then tried a sneaky flanking manoeuvre by dropping and grabbing railings. Did it, then got flustered and pressed x instead of triangle. Dropped into the sea. End of mission. Hope you can do it again.

You can. It's the very next mission once you complete 21.

Also you can just snipe the commander from the base you land on. Go up the steps and dispatch the guys on the pad and the commander is walking around at the very top of the base across from you. Mark him up and take him out from downtown.

Oh yeah, you can do it again.

If you aren't fussed about nabbing the best enemy soldiers/freeing hostages, I found the best method to sneak between platforms was to cross the bridges on the underside where the piping is located. I avoided majority of soldiers using that method, which meant when I got to final platform I still had supressor durability at max and could deal with soldiers on it with ease.

Oh and, don't deny yourself the joy of throwing a concious/stunned soldier overboard.

edit: or what Minto said

No, but it should have been.

The game does definitely feeling like it's dragging its feet but I can't say I've had a whole lot of satisfaction from the story so far.

Assuming that's the end of the Skull Face / Ground Zeroes stuff, can someone briefly explain what it was all about because I'm not exactly sure I understand why Skull Face attacked the old Mother Base 9 years ago. Preferably keeping spoilers for part 2 out of it.

Basically Major Zero, back when he was in charge of fox set up XOF as a support unit. Skull Face was heading XOF and at this point was in full on murderhate for the people to took everything from him and gave him a new life without him asking. He sees Zero and Big Boss, the poster boys for everything he hates, as primary targets. Zero because of his use of language and information to create a sole global lingua franca to further the vision of The Boss which is why he's interrogating Paz in GZ. Big Boss for being party to that initially and for his ties to Zero. Also his view of a world unified through forced respect and fear was directly at odds with Big Boss' view of a nation of free soldiers who can provide support and upset the balance if needed. He first tried to get Snake to help him and when it was clear Boss had no interest he couldn't really leave a threat like that go.

At least, that's what I got. Probably wrong, only listened to the tapes and such once through. Feel free to call me out and call me names.

Cheers guys. Saw I could do it again after it dropped me back into mission 21 and I cleared that.
Got FOB unlocked now and dabbled with that. Seems like it's another burn on my fuel resources though. Stole some soldiers from some poor shmuck.

Now i have full power Fulton. Ho. Ho. Ho.

Went back to my fail mission from way back where you have to take out 3 tanks at a base, only this time I managed to Fulton them before they even got there.

"Great lateral thinking boss!"

I mean I did die enough trying that it offered me the chicken hat but I got there in the end

Using Fulton on tanks is the best. What I love to do is go prone and look directly up so I can fully see them shoot up into the sky. It's just so funny/satisfying.

Alien confirmed.

I hope Kojima also snuck in a bigfoot and/or jetpack in there somewhere.

I'm having too much fun with this game. Combat can be just as fun as ghosting a mission.
