Disappointing doesn't cover it.

What a grind this is.

None of the side ops I'm doing are giving me any progress, and I can't do the latest yellow marked dispatch as its telling me I have insufficient fighting vehicles.

I've been fultoning tanks yet it's saying I have "0/1" :(

Edit: Apparently I don't have the right type of tank. I've fultonned every tank I can find and I still can't progress.

Think I'm done with this game.

Apart from the lip-syncing and extra effects and stuff, it's pretty much complete-looking. It even has full voice acting.

It's definitely GOTY contender. My main gripe is that it just doesn't feel like a Metal Gear. I'm not saying every game should just be Snake Eater (although they should) but the story and characters just seem very bland when you compare them. A lot of it is on The Skulls as I kept expecting one to be an immortal vampire or to have great chats with them as you fight. But all of the enemy chatter comes from a single car-ride.

But I can't call it a bad game with over 100 hours in it and still up for going back.

^nice :datass:

Pretty much what I tried to do that mission, although I've never used decoys so tried to get DD to lie in the road to stop them, then I got shot. How did you get to the tanks before getting the Intel? I thought you had to trigger them by getting that first.

Chapter 2 should have just been cut, it spoiled the game for me.

A hilariously awkward car ride.

'We ran out of dialogue and the characters haven't arrived at their destination. I know! Let's stick a song in there!'

I cringed. Hard.

 Stop with the drama.

Those missions are not essential to progress and did you ever think maybe some of them are designed in such a way as to have you revist them after improving your army via playing other elements of the game?
edit: there is also a chance the type of vehicle needed appeared during missions before you were able to Fulton such things.

What do you mean by SOs are not giving you progress? You should be finding better personnel (though not always) and materials to extract. You're also getting more money which will go toward development of base and or gear. What progress were expecting by doing SOs?

I think intel is there to make life easier by marking map. It doesn't spawn the target.

I am getting a little bored of this, but feel it was probably a bit much to get into an open world game after the witcher 3.

I'd finished Witcher 3 the day before MGSV arrived. After over 50 hours in and only 15 story missions complete I'm far from bored. I'm a little addicted to the micro-management of MB. Need dem extensions!

And I've played more SO than the story missions :datass:

I don't know how I'm supposed to progress at all.

The only missions left are [EXTREME] repeats. I keep getting side-ops, but non are marked in yellow.

The only way it looks like I can progress is bt doing the Crush the Drug Cartel Dispatch Mission, but I can't get the right tank as I can't repeat any of the Eliminate The Tank Unit side ops.

Chapter 2 is just pointless, it's filler, 2 huge maps filled with miles of wasteland and repetitive missions.

You have to do extreme repeats to progress. Side ops and dispatch missions don't progress story. It's poor that they force you to repeat missions (and they chose some of the worst to re do on extreme)

I was under the impression that only yellow marked missions/side ops drove the story.

Side ops can 100% advance the story.

I got missions 45 and 46 without touching the Subsistence/Extreme/Stealth missions.

In other news: got my maxed MB and Army. Sitting on 152 side-ops. 80%. Now the grind's done, it's just git gud time.

It's almost like it's a challenge run in a Metal Gear, right?

Is it possible to complete it without doing any Subsistence/Extreme/Stealth missions though?
